Hey, sis! What does it mean to you to honor God with your body? It's time to (truly) invite God into everything, including how we treat our bodies (His temple)!! In today's video, I am sharing 5 habits that have truly transformed my life -- from my relationship to my body, to my perspective on what it means to honor God with my body, the Lord has been workingggg on me, okay!     Healthy tip #6 Lean on God when your “motivation” isn’t enough! Some days I don’t have enough energy to show up for myself so I show up for God instead since He always is there for me.

    1. Accepting that God cares “deeply” about how we treat our bodies. 2. Working out consistently with a trainer. 3. Getting rid of the junk. 4. Boundaries. 5. Commitment to the journey. 6. Reading the Bible. “Man does not live on bread alone but by every Word of God.” (: Let’s all try to treat our bodies like a temple ❤

    Great video, I believe starting your morning with God is imperative. The first 15 minute rule spend the first 15 minutes of your day with God(prayer, praise& worship, 5 minute devotional, 10 minute bible study, meditation or gratitude journaling). Not your emails, no social media or checking text messages.I believe this sets a standard for your day, sometimes we forget “seek ye first the kingdom of God”… It’s truly a blessing to being “Fit” in the lord!

    Great video! Tip number 6 I would suggest intermittent fasting. Daily devotion with God on an empty stomach and an empty mind, ready to be filled with the nourishment of His word has been a heaven on earth experience for me in 2023. I pray this helps someone!

    Great Message! I was almost 300lbs last August '22, but when I was rushed to the hospital from being in excruciating pain due to a health issue, motivated me to loose weight & start my new lifestyle. Since on my journey of working out from 5 to 6 days a week at the gym, walking 3 miles 4 to 5 times a week during the summer and working out with Grow with Jo since I started nutri system, as of today, I lost almost 80lbs. June was the last month I had an order from nutri system. I feel amazing!!!

    Holy Girl Healthy Tip 6 Keep an accountability journal and track your journey with prayers and thanskgiving. It will also help with expressing frustrations and/or the motions during the journey making it more of a healthy lifetsyle

    ​@@MelodyAlisaMelody I am ashamed and a mess I don't understand why I look back I was so happy healthy vibrant energetic and blessed and yet BACK. I went away and feel STUPID. I didn't have to think to eat healthy. I am not well and feel stuck in Destruction path when i wasn't this way at all. Everything I had and used to do in Christ and church Gone.

    Wow! Perfect timing. No more than 5 seconds after I was done w my devotional, your video notification popped up. My devotional for today was literally about having a healthy body.     One thing that has helped me with gluttony is “ Never give your body all it wants at any time”. When you want 3 drumsticks have only 2. When you usually have 3 consecutive meals only have 2. Limit what you usually do and when you do so ask God for the strength to be generous to those in need and practice self control ✝️🫶🏾if the Holy Spirit dwells in you, you CAN DO IT. Read Philippians 4:12-13, “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.” ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:12-13‬ ‭NIV‬‬

    A holy girl habit I'd like to add is journaling. Keep a journal, write things down dreams, goals, visions, feelings. Let it all out in your journal.

    The Holy Spirit has revealed to me that I struggle with emotional eating. This is something I have dealt with since 4 years old! I'm 31 now. I understand that change won't come overnight but I am more aware about the things I eat and the frequency that I eat and "why" I'm eating. I typically eat when I'm bored and I noticed the habit forming in my children. I never thought of emotional eating as a generational curse but I am on the journey of breaking this in my life and my family's life. I keep a food journal to acknowledge what I'm eating and how often. I'll add a symbol when I'm eating due to an emotion vs actually being hungry. There are certain foods I don't buy anymore when I go grocery shopping. This has helped me out too. I want to treat my temple with respect! I want the Holy Spirit to dwell in a holy place inside of me. I no longer want to fill it with junk! Thank you so much for sharing.

    I was watching an interesting documentary today about the food industry (especially about sugar) and I got so disgusted. The way sugar affects our bodies really had me thinking twice. How it creates an addiction stronger than hard drugs & how we as Christians might turn it into an idol. I thank God for giving me a confirmation haha. I love your videos Melody. They are always a delight.

    this just came for me. my sugar addiction comes in the form of latte’s (Vanilla iced latte made with soy milk, but only 3 pumps of vanilla) I’ve noticed I get this everyday because it’s just so comforting for me😩

    Thank you for this video it was so timely! 6th Holy girl healthy habit would be fasting from social media. It allows me to de-clutter my mind which allows me to hear clearly from the Lord. Social media is great; however, it can be a distraction and cause you to compare your journey with others that God never intended for you to worry about.

    @LifeWithDeezy Hey! I usually pray before I start the fast, and I just ask the Lord to speak to me during the time that I choose to be off of social media. Sometimes I am off for a couple of days, and sometimes it's for a month. Instead of scrolling, I will use that time to read the Bible, pray, just be still and ask God to speak. I also turn off the notifications, so that I won't be tempted to go back on before the fast is up. Praying that helps!

    6. Getting into God's presence every day. When we step into his presence, we are taken care of emotionally, mentally and spiritually, and as a result, we are in better physical health.

    This is super helpful. I struggle a lot in this area but God is helping me through. I would add fasting to the list. Fasting has mental and spiritual benefits but it has physical benefits as well when done right.

    I'm on this same journey right now. Holy Spirit really pressed the importance of my body being his temple. Right now it is mostly about what I am physically putting in my body.     I’ve been praying on this particular part of my life, not only for myself but for my family. I laugh at little things on how God has answered one of my prayers-> eating out/ fast food. Every time I eat out with my family recently the food has been absolutely not good, to the point my foods been undercooked or even when I tried to get away with eating at “fresh” fast food places like in’n’out here in cali, it doesn’t taste the same. So I’m accepting that the Holy Spirit is at work for sure! Gods given me a vision and I’m so so very blessed to have your episode come up in my journey now. As you said now that you know your why and how deeply God wants for us to be healed and have power and authority in His Temple, I have a focus and desire to worship Him with my body.     As someone who has struggled with body image and eating disorders for most of her life- I would have to say the Holy Girl Habit that I’ve been convicted of is idolizing my earthly body. I can definitely place too much focus in the “here and now” version of me when it comes to food and fitness instead of the eternal perspective I get to experience with my Heavenly Father 🤍 When I obsess out of fear and vanity I’m bound to be disappointed and dissatisfied 🤷🏻‍♀️ This was a great message in stewarding our bodies for HIS glory! 🙌🏻 Thanks sis! 💓

    May God continue to bless you Melody ❤ Unfortunately, I don't have the privilege of accessing the foods that will nourish my body, due to my circumstances. At the moment I feel like the Israelites who were eating Manna to survive. However, I have been praying unceasingly for God's provision of food to abound. I know that God will answer my prayer because the prayer of a holy person is powerful and effective (James 5:16). God keeps reminding me that he is giving me everything I need to survive everyday. I know his provision is there, but sometimes I struggle to discern and appreciate it. I feel weak but that means God is going to intercede and make me strong (2 Corinthians 12:10). Glory to God ❤

    Girl, you and I are on the same page💕 I read a book that keep reminding me that my body is a temple. Also challenging to daily keep this body clean and healthy for the King who lives in me. My sixth habit would be rest. I overwork myself so much and get overwhelmed to try and do everything 🥴The Lord encourages rest as this is a time of reflection but also we shouldn’t get struck in resting, something I had to learn during winter🙈

    I used food as comfort since i was a child. Now in my 20s God has blessed me to be able to lose weight by working with a trainer. I also try to ask the Lord to help me honor Him with my eating when I pray over my food. Game changer for me! I also wanted to add because it came to my mind. Keeping up with your hygiene is another way to treat your body as a temple. Showering, brusshing/flossing, even moisturizing. If I ever have kids then i would love to teach them this

    I am at this place right now where I have to invite God into every area of my life! Like it is detrimental. To break old habits, to be consistent in this walk that I have been on for so long!     Great video! I have been in a time of focusing on my habits and treating my body like a temple with eating, excercise, and consistent Bible reading. But you did highlight some other areas for me and helped convict me that I should be inviting God into these areas more as I work to maintain them. I will definitely be more intentional now 😊

    I absolutely love this vid! I’m currently going through menopause, the Holy Spirit directed me to study intermittent fasting and it has worked wonders for me. Also making sure I’m getting enough sleep as well as keeping my stress levels down.

    So true about boundaries. I used to listen to a podcast that I found so fun to listen to, gave me a little dose of drama and just felt like girl talk, but eventually I noticed that I was carrying this negative mindset around with me, always expecting the worst. (the podcast basically reviewed negative interpersonal interactions they read about on the internet) I was sad to let it go at first, but now I can absolutely tell that it was negatively effecting my mind, and I feel so much better and more positive and hopeful.

    Omg, this is such a confirmation God is speaking to me. When I saw the topic I was like Ohk God, I’m sorry forgive me… Lately I haven’t been so consistent with my self care routine especially fasting. I normally would incorporate it at least once per week to allow my body to reset. This is literally an ontime message.. Thankyou for allowing God to speak through you to encourage us to live for him in every areas of our lives ❤

    It’s beautiful to hear things that the HS puts in our hearts, especially when others say them out loud. I love this list, one other one the HS has told me is to have standards. Standards in what you eat, eating like the princesses we are.

    When I’m feeling sad, down, etc., I love getting an icee type of drink, so this video just made me realize that I just need to go directly to God when I’m feeling that way!! It also convicted me of buying food outside a lil too much just because I’m getting a good deal on the food, haha. I do love cooking though and putting together cute meals, so I’m down for paying attention to what I eat again!!

    This is so good ❤! Working out is a good way to keep Satan away! I started working out 3x a week and I try to be moving everyday but it’s hard when the weather is really hot 🥵. Keep up the good work and show your body grace when numbers go up.
