I've had a bad stutter as far as I can remember. I'm 30 now, around my 21st b day I started to fight it and put myself in situations where I usually stutter. I noticed after I got more confident the stutter started going away, slowly but surely it's going away the more I push myself. As I said I'm 30 now and I will say I stutter 90% less. Keep trying guys. Don't let this hold you back.

Thank you for doing this video. As a person who stuttered as a child and still stutter some as an adult, people can be very cruel and heartless by their actions and what they say about people who stutter.People really need to be aware of what is going on with a person who stutters and some people needs to learn to have patience with those people who don't talk as plainly as others.

I was stuttering too. But I overgrew it about when I was 28 years old. For my experience, a lot of speech in public (that was my job) are really help. You have no choice, you have to that, then you have to do a lot of practices before your speech. When you got some successful tries, then eventually, you will feel more confident.

I believe my son started stuttering he's almost 4. But it only happens when he seems like he's excited and wants to tell a story. It seems like his brain is working faster than his mouth can say it. He doesn't do it when he speaks slowly and is calm.

Unfortunately he is still doing it. I think it has gotten worse. He was evaluated with school but they said it wasn't severe enough according to their standards. I tried getting another opinion about therapy and the therapist said she wanted to see him weekly but then my insurance refused to cover it. Now I have to wait til September again for him to be reevaluated at school. In the mean time he is extremely frustrated and behavioral when people don't understand him. I understand him the best and sometimes I still have to guess what he says. Hope you have better luck getting help.

When I was younger I barely stuttered. But I'm 10 years old now and I stutter a lot more than I did when I was younger. Usually at home I barely stutter at school. Earlier my mom told me to slow down after I finished my sentence. Then I told her the irony of what she just said, because your actually not supposed to tell them to "slow down" or "start over".

I recommend fighting it by putting yourself in uncomfortable situations (raising your hand in class), hitting the gym, or even making nerdy friends who wont make fun of you. Practice dialogues from movies too.

I absolutely dreaded “reading class” and kids made fun of me .. it affected me hard my entire life and my confidence/self esteem took a nose dive early on ..I developed social phobia and an extreme phobia of public speaking where I would literally get panic attacks when doing anything by myself in front of a crowd .. my 3 year old is now stuttering and I will in no way on earth let her have the same horrible circumstance as me ..

Hey Guys. I have had my sturrer since I can remember. I somehow managed to overcome it when I turn 18 and now I'm 27 and I sturrer as any other average person when I don't realise it. It is not a problem anymore. I figured out that if you can talk to yourself and sturrer way less than when talking to people you just have to make that transition. And one of the main things it helped me the most is to forget I have a sturrer. When you mind resets, you become sort of free of being trapped in that loop.

This is the most inaccurate explanation of stuttering. It is COMPLETELY psychological. I have been stuttering since I was 4, and I have had time periods where I didn’t stutter at all. That was because the anxiety of talking didn’t affect me for that period of time. These people obviously have never gone through stuttering, and are just the normal therapists that don’t even work. They have literally cost me years that I could’ve been focusing on anxiety. These “tools” never work in public. If this was physical, they would work, but it’s not that way. The anxiety overcomes you when you are presenting something. I can’t explain the feeling of stuttering, because nobody who has never gone through this will understand. Stuttering has an impact on your social life at all times. It doesn’t hurt, but it has caused depression in my life because I have gotten picked on in school in the past. These therapists should teach how to be confident and how to not be anxious instead of focusing on these age old tools that never work.

Many thanks, I been tryin to find out about "fixing stuttering" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Rincaas Stammify Blocker - (just google it ) ? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my m8 got amazing results with it.
