KL - chinatown(chinese food), pudu area(chinese food), jalan alor(international), little india(banana leaf rice and indian sweet cakes), kampung baru(wanjo nasi lemak) 2. Melaka/malacca - it is a small city. Basically food is found everywhere here from cendol, asam laksa, nyonya laksa, nyonya chicken pongteh, nyonya sweet cakes(many varieties like onde onde), chinese food like chicken rice ball, popiah, dim sum. Nyonya is straits chinese who adopted malay culture. Food is fusion between malay and chinese. I am not sure if the portuguese settlement has any special restaurant but i know on jonker street there maybe egg tarts, maybe portuguese tarts. 3. Ipoh town - the buildings are colonial and chinese old shops similar to penang island. Food is just as good like dim sum, curry dry noodles, nasi ganja / nasi kandar, chee cheong fun etc etc. After ipoh can dropby cameron highlands. 4. You do not need to go to borneo island to see orangutans. Just pay a visit to orangutan island in taiping historical town. People can volunteer at the island and get free lodging. Yeah they called it Kong island. Taiping is also famous for its huge botanical garden. Taiping zoo is also nice. Taiping and port weld were the first place the british built the first railway here. 5. Penang island. Malaysia's food mecca and pearl of the orient. Asia's longest funicular railway. One of the steepest in the world. One of the oldest in the world. 6. Islands on the east coast of peninsula worth a trip. Crystal clear waters. Perhentian islands, redang island, rawa island, tioman island, lang tengah island, pulau kapas (cotton island). 7. Borneo island - sabah and sarawak. Sarawak laksa, kolo mee, sinalau bakas bbq wild boar. Islands in sabah worth considering(crystal clear waters): 1. Sapi island 2. Mermaid island 3. Turtle island 4. Bohey dulang 5. Manukan 6. Mamutik 7. Timba-timba 8. Sipadan 9. Mabul 10. Layang-layang atoll 11. Sibuan 12. Mataking 13. Pom-pom These islands in sabah are similar to the philippines because there is a marine triangle running from the philippines until west papua indonesia which can match the great barrier reef of australia. No joke. Australia has 500 types of corals. This area has 600 according to findings. 8. Langkawi island - eagle island , legend of mahsuri, cable car, curved arched bridge view point, beautiful beaches. This is near thailand. Koh lipe is nearby.
