HOW TO TRAVEL FROM THAILAND TO MALAYSIA BY LAND IN 2022
The time to leave Thailand and head to our next country has finally arrived. After a whole 5 and a half months of exploring Thailand and making memories, we're now moving on to Malaysia! We're so incredibly excited to get our teeth stuck into Malaysia and experience a new culture.
Our journey from Thailand to Malaysia is FAR FROM an easy one thanks to "the situation" meaning a lot of transport links still aren't yet operating as normal. This means we need to travel completely by land (on buses/minivans & a ferry) and endure a 10+ hour journey door to door INCLUDING walking by foot over the border (never thought that was something we'd have to do lol)

That "bridge" had that little whatever "problem" just to give you two enough time to comfortably board the ferry to langkawi instead of missing it by 5 minutes 😬 Well, have a blast enjoying your exploration of langkawi island, penang, KL, and the rest of 🇲🇾malaysia 👍 and stay safe!

Actually when you reach hatyai, you may straight away buy coach ticket, from hatyai to KL. Most of the seat was 2+1, which mean bigger seat, larger spaces. The journey takes about 8 hrs. That's my way to travel to hatyai before pandemic. 😁

HI guys! Thanks for the video. I'm arriving in Padang Besar on Sunday (by train from Bangkok) - heading to Langkawi. Was just wondering about the ATM situation. When did you see the first one? Also, how did you hail a Grab - was your roaming on? Thanks
@TravelstoFreedom
Жыл бұрын
Hey!! For an ATM the first one we saw was when we got off the ferry in Langkawi, inside the ferry terminal, I’m sure you can get a taxi to stop at one sooner for you if you needed it & we JUST had signal as we were exiting the border and managed to order one but as soon as we drove to the other side of the roundabout it was gone lol, there are other taxis outside for you just in case and they will accept Thai Baht if you don’t have Ringit!
I just returned from Malaysia.

Hello! We have never done the journey so we are not sure, but we guess you would do something similar to us in terms of getting to Krabi and then going to Bangkok from there, we saw lots of places advertising bus to Bangkok in Krabi!
Can we walk in to Thailand from Malaysia side too?

What's the masking situation like in Thailand and Malaysia right now? Is it still mandatory everywhere? Are people still wearing them outside?
@TravelstoFreedom
2 жыл бұрын
It really depends where you are but as a rule of thumb - outdoors, I’ve seen people wear them but we never did in 5 months, in shops is usually a yes and other places we just followed what the locals did
@jonmath4182
2 жыл бұрын
For malaysia, it's still compulsory indoors, as well as outdoors where there are crowds. So if you're taking a walk in the park where there are no events held for eg, then mask is no longer required
It would have been much easier to take a bus from Hat Yai to Satun and get the ferry to Langkawi from there.
@TravelstoFreedom
