3 things 1) Make it look like a borrow, cover it with leaves, sticks, etc. 2) Use Apples/ Pears, they like sugar 3) Be persistent

I am just wondering how offen you set traps, and how many rabbits you catch? My house backs onto hundreds of acres of brush land and I'm thinking of setting some up on a regular basis.

Make sure it's in season and then set however many the legal amount is and then check every day while replacing bait when needed. I have 3 out usually and catch 1-2 a week

Ive also heard that you should spray the trap and area with Apple Cider Vinager to mask human scent and attracts the rabbits.

I’ve found that the same size trap your using is harder to set than the smaller version of the same trap I recommend if you have the issue I have bang it on the ground then try to set it again it worked for me

Hmm, obviously the cover tactics are not gonna be the same, but is there any types of tall grass or possibly cactus. I really don’t have a great idea, but maybe this will help. Also check out the possibility of using snares

Unfortunately with trapping bycatch is always possible. I can say, however, that this style of set doesn’t favor squirrels or skunks, so you should be safe

@@CUOutdoors so apples should keep those away and the rabbit in,, ok thx, had my trap out there a week so far trying different things including apple the last couple of days but so far nothing although i did see a skunk come out right next to where i had the trap so was worried last thing i need is a skunk in there lol maybe there aint any rabbits around this year because of the coyotes in the parks but other summers i seen them come out of this place to go eat in ppls gardens then come back in the afternoon same place ,thats where i set the trap this year

Thankyou for the info, I’m gonna ask my neighbor when he gets home if he has a live trap handy. I was in the garden this evening watering and I finally saw a bunny eating on my watermelon plant. I was curious of what was getting to it

Have you tried using another rabbit as bait? If you place a divider between the bait rabbit and the trigger plate would another rabbit suspect something is wrong?

It would possibly work, but I believe that may be illegal in my state

Leaving another rabbit in to attract another rabbit just might draw the wrong attention say maybe a fox or other predator, something to consider, I think best remove the caught rabbit asap.

There is not many non-lethal options and I have a feeling you don’t want death to be the option.

Your best bet is to go get a trap or use deterrent. Garlic and red pepper mixed in water is a great natural rabbit repellent that does little more than irritate it’s nose

Not specifically. With trapping you can never be certain of what you'll come back to in the morning. May I recommend trying a different trap location

CU Outdoors Very well ,I live in the residential area, yet I couldn’t set up the trap in the backyard instead of in front yard because rabbits are not there,we have strong fences they’re not be able to get in ,if I put the trap on the roof of the garage then I catch squirrels only 😂How am I supposed to do?

@@CUOutdoors ok thanks! but last night I set up my live trap and I made a trail of cut up apples all the way in to the back of the trap, and there were two rabbits right next to it. they ate the trail outside of the trap but they didn’t go in side the trap. I’m gonna try it again tonight, I put sticks around it. do you have any tips? Thanks!

@@CUOutdoors Ok. No offence, but you might try not getting your scent all over everything. Just a little bait near the door leading in, and the best bait in the back and not touching it, or the sides. Everything should be done with gloves, just grab some dirt and run it over the palm of the gloves. Rabbits have good noses.

@@CUOutdoors ok thanks! but last night I set up my live trap and I made a trail of cut up apples all the way in to the back of the trap, and there were two rabbits right next to it. they ate the trail outside of the trap but they didn’t go in side the trap. I’m gonna try it again tonight, I put sticks around it. do you have any tips? Thanks!

Some high end grocery stores will sell them, other then that, check your local butcher
No l don't want to trap a rabbit their so cute and innocent I love them don't trap the rabbit for no reason. ❤️💖🐇😘

It helps to take a few here and there, it makes room for new rabbits, plus they taste good

Various reasons, sometimes they’re pest and some people eat them
Dude u gotta wear gloves to mask your scent which is very important.

@@CUOutdoors Ok. No offence, but you might try not getting your scent all over everything. Just a little bait near the door leading in, and the best bait in the back and not touching it, or the sides. Everything should be done with gloves, just grab some dirt and run it over the palm of the gloves. Rabbits have good noses.

@@tymesho thanks for the advice and I typically do what you’re saying when I’m chasing coons, coyotes, and cats, but I’ve had no trouble with catching rabbits. Also, if you will, check me out on my new channel SC Traditions. KZread shut this one down
