Also anyone have issue that when phone filled up or close to it of storage that photos got automatically deleted . Also after making 100gb of room some old photos I can’t ever get back are grayed out with an ! At the bottom saying error when loading but I’ve seen them hundreds of times for that to randomly occur. Messed up is it happens after an update

This might be really late, but this might help another person: I noticed that if you go to iMessage, select the person you want to save photos from. Click on their name at the top (where it shows their name and phone number) and scroll down to the bottom. You should have the option to download the images to iCloud (I don’t know if this makes sense but I hope it helps)!

Bs what if no one has room and can’t afford to buy more space? How to transfer cause didn’t have messages backed up three phones back on my 8 and when got 13 it automatically transferred the new 15 is such a pain in the ass
