doesnt work when u got over 30k pics, fucking apple, i go tru this over 13 years now. Fucking hate them. I need to use their fucking product cuz the android sux even more. They do it on purpose to buy new phone then a mac. Meh.

fun fact: it took me less time to go to the store to buy a new Android phone then it did for me to move my videos and Pics from my iPhone to my PC.....thats a problem.

This was so helpful! I had about 600 photos to get off my iphone of my grandkids! I wanted room for more and I have a back up drive as well to keep them even safer but what a task! @@cariusx Try EaseUS Mobimover. It's not too bad. Photos and voice memos transfer over fine.... videos don't transfer well though as the audio/image quality is lost or sometimes doesn't line up properly

Thanks, Kevin! That was really easy to understand. I like the straightforward way you explain the different methods of transferring videos. What I would like to see is how to move all those photos instead of just copying. Seems like there used to be a "move" option but I didn't see that one ... just the share and copying options.

This was so helpful I had watched like 100 videos already until I stumbled here. I had to just delete/ uninstall my iTunes and start all over by just using the photo app to import... thank you 🙏🏼

Unfortunately import photos via the Windows 10 "Photos App" doesn't work, because "0 elements were found". Via File Explorer is say "Device cannot be reached", although I actually can see the photos in the file explorer.

My friend sent me this link to upload my pics and videos. I was having such a hard time until I watched your video. Thank you so much for the easy and clear understanding video.

Finally someone gives an option that doesn't involve a Mac laptop!! Very detailed and to the point...You rock :)

maybe try importing in batches (e.g. 250 at a time). That might help... let me know if that works for you.

To all the people who has the problem like: device error, etc. Try this: go to setting --- photos --- at the bottom choose for "Keep Originals" instead of "Automatic". It's about the vdo files HVEC or something that couldn't be transfer to Windows.

Thank you SO much! I haven't been able to transfer pictures in forever. My cord would either not be recognized or it would say there is no new pictures to transfer (which could not be further from reality). I have tried to look up many ways to fix it and nothing has done the trick. I never have the time and patience to deal with it. The Google photos is working wonderfully. I tested a few pictures and looks like it will be easy to create albums and then download an album of organized pictures at a time. I am so happy you solved a huge problem that has been hanging over my head.

Hi Kevin, I have had all iPhone since the iPhone 4 came out. I would always transfer photos via the old-fashioned way using the connection cord and the file Explorer like you showed in this video. Never had a problem with this until my last two iPhones, the iPhone X and XS max. I have a lot of photos that I tried to transfer in bulk via this method and about five minutes in, or even sometimes sooner, I always get a message that reads "device cannot be reached" and I never get beyond that. I've heard from Apple people that it's because of the specific photo files that the new IOS operating system uses and when the computer is trying to convert it to a JPEG this interruption always occurs. Some of these people have said to change the setting to keep original, however my Windows computer cannot open the new high definition file. Have you had this problem yourself?

I had the same problem too...but there’s one more option, you can use “FEEM” app both on windows and iPhone and then transfer all your photos and videos via same wifi. Works like Shareit but much faster. Hope it helps.

Check your Camera settings: got to Formats: check “Most Compatible”. This will only help with the new photos you take after you’ve selected this option(your file size is bigger). For the photos you already have, I would suggest getting a flash drive for iPhone like the ones from SanDisk. They’re pretty easy to use but it’s an extra expense. I hope that helps

i’ve done this before and it worked but now when i try doing it, the trust notification won’t pop up on my phone. and i’ve done that thing where you rest your location and privacy settings and then it the notification pops up but i’ll go to select the photos i want to transfer and something ends up going wrong. how can i fix this?

Hi Kevin, thanks so much for these three options. Google photos works and so does File Explorer. But I'm having one issue I hoped you could help me with, as I am relatively computer illiterate. Before I found your video, when I plugged in my cable the first time, I got the dialog of How would you like to import and the list of choices, as you showed us. I clicked on File Explorer (and it told me my file was empty--I had forgotten to click "Allow" on my phone). I had unplugged and tried again and now each time I plug in, it goes straight to File Explorer, I no longer get the choice, How would you like to Import. It's not a big deal, but not being computer savvy, I was wondering how do I pull up the Import choice dialogue, in case I want it? It came up every time I plugged in my old Android. Thanks so much!!

I had the same problem. By the grace of God, it somehow worked after several attempts. So all I can suggest is just reconnecting a few times, and maybe wait a bit if it's not working. It took me over an hour to do this.

why TF is my device EMPTY WTF. I connected the phone, trusted pc and when it pops up on pc it is empty WTFF EDIT: I closed iTunes, and then the DCIM folder appeared for me in My PC > iPhone. Also I have a lot of photos so I saved to my pc in batches rather than everything at once. It loses connection if u try all at once

Had the same issue. To make it work, with a cable on my PC, i had to right click on my iphone - import pictures and videos, ***than i had to look on my phone to allow my PC/device to access my iphone photos/videos*** -- Once you have imported all the photo, you can now go in your Apple Iphone folder (on your PC) and under it access the DCIM - 100Apple folder where you *should* get all your photos. -- If it's not clear let me know so i might help you, and probably many other, to fix it.

@@nicolastremblay8955 It was because iTunes was open. When I closed iTunes the DCIM folder appeared. After that it would lose connection so I had to save in batches instead of trying to save everything at once

I have used the Photos App option for some time with no issues. However lately the downloaded photos from my IPhone are being dumped into my 'pictures' folder with a bunch of unrelated others. It used to dump them into a year / date folder in the pictures folder which was pretty nice in that it sorted them by year/month. I could then file them as I liked. It would even create the year /Month folder if there wasnt one yet. That option seems to have disappeared. How do I return to that? Thanks...

I always do the first two methods you mentioned, but I find it a bit weird because not all my photos from the iphone syncs to the computer. Like sometimes I find photos show up in one method but those same photos aren't there when using the windows photos app for example, wonder if that happens to anyone.
