As much as I wish I had sent my dog to Brandon for training before bringing him home kzread.infoUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU I am so grateful for this down-to-earth, practical guide. His training techniques and tips really work. Thank you as well for dedicating your life's work to rescue dogs, and to rescuing those of us who want the very best for our 4-legged family members.
Our 11 wks cane corsa (Hagrid) picked up basic heal walking with 2 10 min sessions using your methods. He is smart as hell. Is going to be huge.

@Yazmin-vz4bf a lot of work for sure, but they are smart. We have done 36 wks of group training (1hr each), signed up for 20 more. 2 wks of board and train and almost nightly training walks/sessions. He is coming along, lots of work needed. Socialize the ever living heck out of the dog, id do nightly from 10-16wks.
I feel like ive let my dog down by not engaging and just drilling. He will walk till he gets bored and then just abandons me and forgets I exist. Im so excited because I tried this and it actually worked and he was way more interested in me and was engaging and idk it made me feel better about myself because he felt better with me. Thanks!
The “big picture” part of this is very helpful for me. My puppy is 12 weeks old and I find myself having too high expectations, so I try and correct every little thing. This gives me confidence to just let him be a puppy and work on small things at a time. Love your videos sir.
This is abseloutely amazing and beautiful to watch and learn. You explained the bigger picture so well and it makes perfectly sence. I love the way your not bribing her to walk nice or follow commands with you. It's built with relationship and encouragment and love. I'm so glad i found your channel thank you for teaching us all about this.

Defintelty best dog trainer on youtube by a country mile
I really appreciate the idea of establishing the desire to work with me before worrying about every little micro thing. It makes perfect sense not to worry about a few small undesirable behaviors until you get that macro behavior first.

Yea, exactly so helpful.
Thank you so much. I’m glad I found your video because I realize I’m expecting too much from my pup and not spending enough time/energy on engagement and rewarding him for coming to me.
God why do all dog trainers take half an hour to say something that could take 5 mins 😂
Your definition and explanation of the macro vs the micro is very helpful to me, as I can tend toward micro management if I'm not real careful. Thanks so much!!!
Tried for the first time today, can see a change already! I even enjoyed the walk (for the first time in a while!) Thanks 👍
Thank you for this video! We are late starters on this with our puppy. We thought teaching our dog to sit, lay down, shake, etc, was the main goal, however, we neglected to look at the big picture. Looking forward to watching more videos and learning how to properly train our pup. Thank you!
This outlook is so important. I have my first puppy and I really needed to hear this proper mindset.
Love this, it doesn’t matter how many puppies you have, we forget each time how to train and support our new puppies.
Great advice thanks. Got an 8 week pointer pup and already made a difference.
This is the best example I have ever seen - its light, fun and profoundly effective! I'm well impressed 👌
Amazing video and perfect for my puppy and training ambitions. Can’t wait to watch more of your clips. Thank you!
I'm getting my new black lab puppy in a month and I'm so impressed with your videos and I cannot wait to get started.
Just found your videos. Adopted our new puppy and he comes home at the end of the Month. Will be our 3rd puppy and I want to set the framework early. We've had success in the past, good dogs, behaved, walk well, I just want to incresae my knowledge and have an even healthier, happier puppy. These videos are great, thanks Will.
Thank you! Your explanation of the macro vs. micro is a game changer.
Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant, and what a beautiful puppy Riley is! LOVED the music & sped-up part :-)
Ooh I needed this with my 11 week old pup. Thank you so much
Great video. This idea of macro vs micro really clicks with me and seems very important to keep in mind. I love the simple yet game-changing tips like this. Like in another video from another channel he talks about teaching your puppy to focus. While it seems obvious and simple, it's not something I would have thought about, yet can make a world of difference.
You are the only one that explains the why.. and it makes so much sense! Thank you!
I support your therapeutic approach, Establishing a healthy relationship built off trust and love. You’re a Beast bro 🤙🏾
I have started long line recall with my 13-week puppy and it's going really well with high value treats but was giving them every time - thanks for pointing out the 'slot machine' thing!
Recently discovered your videos in anticipation of picking up our young sprocker, we are experienced loving dog owners but have found your methods passionate and engaging and full of “bigger picture “ info. I have found other videos from other trainers explaining what to do but not why to do. Keep up the good work, we are looking forward to training Milo to a very high standard
Love the videos I recently purchased the fenrir dog training course for my cane corso puppy which is arriving soon. I have been studying your course and cannot thank you enough for all this information!!!!
This guy is amazing, for two days I’ve been soaking all of his content in.
Thanks for this video Will. I love the idea of foundation layers!
Amazing! thank you for all your hard work, this has been helping me so much!
I'm glad I found this channel amazing help and very detailed information which is always a plus for me
Great video. 7 days till my staffy comes home. Another video I will be using right away!
I messed up with the micro but now I get it. Thank you for this great explanation!
Can't wait to head out for a walk with our staffy pup! So inspiring. Thank you!

Fantastic video Will, did make me chuckle 🤭 when you were speeded up. Well done Riley doing a super job 👍🏻
Some great, simple insights here. 'Simple' but vital, and keeping the big picture/engagement viewpoint on which to build seems like the most telling combination I've experienced, after a few years of training my own gundogs. Great teaching style too.

You are a great teacher. Thank you
Amazing drill breakdown and contextual overview you provide Will. Also, love the vocal inflection. 😀
Thank you so much! This was so clear and useful. I can't wait to watch all your videos
Thank you for all the wonderful teaching videos . I greatly appreciate your effort in helping others with their puppies and dogs.
This was so important. Thank you
I just came across this video and in just a couple of days my dog’s engagement is vastly improved!! I only wish this drill was included in your Perfect Puppy Course. I’ve been following your course sense day one of having our Olde English bulldog and he’s engagement has been extremely lacking until adding in this little drill. Now things are going well!

I am just on week 1 of perfect puppy but my pup is almost 14 wks. I was hoping something like this would be included! Bit disappointed if it isn't still lots of good stuff. Learning what we are doing wrong and right.
Excellent stuff, love the host's vibe and philosophy
I've learned quite a lot from your videos, really impressive work. I love the positive vibe of each video with always realistic solutions for each problem. Keep up the good work!!!
I just want to say thank you, your videos have really helped me with my new silver lab puppy Brenda.
Watching this in late 2023, your comment to focus on the macro instead of the micro really resonated with me. I’m teaching my 4 month old golden doodle, have ordered the long line training leash to help me follow your guidance.
Thank you so much for posting these videos. Such a huge help. I have a great pyr. puppy and I want to make sure I train him right with the right techniques.
Brilliant! I love this.
So well explained! 🙏🏻
Love this will thanks so much for the tips I look forward to doing all this with our new puppy
I love how you talk to the pup it's perfect :-D
By far the best training process i have come across, i been feeling like a Drill Sargent and micro managing the process that should be fun. Thank you so much 😊
YES, this is exactly what we want to see!!!! Keep these types of videos coming.

You got it!
Thank you very much Will for showing this method of training. Most trainers do not put any value to forming a relationship while training. It makes so much sense. I am presently trying to retrain a friend's dog that is simply 'wild'. It is one of the most stubborn dog I know - a 4 year old Jack Russell that had never been properly trained. It was bought for a 5 year old child who has no idea about training a dog to walk on a lead. Parents are not keen to walk the dog because it pulls so hard. I shall try to break the cycle using some of your principles. Thank you. Best wishes.
It's funny you mentioned the "puppy voice"...I found my dog always listened to my daughter spot on, and she talked in a higher pitched voice...so I tried it with my Mastiff Pitbull mix, and it works wonders...I think it's a more positive sound to the dog than a deep command....and they just seem to respond to positive reinforcement versus stern commands...like it you said, it makes it fun...
Awesome video mate! Loads of good info and I love the logical approach. Good work, love the videos

Your explanations are great mate!
This is really helpful, thank you!
The dogs trainers show on their channels never seem to be like really inexperienced pups which are basically nuts - rolling around, chewing the lead, smelling the ground/grass, picking up feathers or slugs, freezing when the hear a car, chasing after a bird in a tree etc etc.
@GrizzlyManTV

I mean literally at 2:40 the dog is rolling it’s nose in the grass and comes to him with the lead in it’s mouth. Or do you mean on other channels you have seen?

I’ve watched loads n this man is the best he shows the mistakes they make I wouldn’t give my dog up cause his behaviour cause that’s on me
Love this! Im going to try this now!
Thank you, it is so hard to train happy when ther is so much to correct al the time. This video made me realice that every thing dont need to be prefect at the beginning. and that is better fo focuse on having fuun and building a team, than correct everything.
I love your methods and philosophy!
This guy is Brilliant!!! He’s a genius! Never mind the Dog Whisperer!
Getting a new puppy soon. Thank you!
Great job bro!... love your methods
Thank you I love dogs Good luck
Wow, holy crap. I got a puppy 2 weeks ago he's 16 weeks old. I am also in the Facebook group. He seemed miserable on walks. I couldn't get him to go two blocks, and then he'd turn and pull on the leash desperately trying to get home again. I got a 12 foot section of rope and tried this today and we walked 30 minutes down a logging trail road that hooks up to the street back home. This time he wanted to keep going! He's a German Shepherd mix. Maybe some kind of bull terrier too. Unknown. With GS dog he's going to have a lot of energy. Now I can **finally** take him on longer walks! I have been primarily following your courses. I trained four other dogs with the Monks of New Skete method. This is the first time I have had a reluctant puppy.
Will you are not just good you are damn good, thankyou so much 💞🐾🐾
I love your training methods 😮
Love it!!!!
Hey. Thank you for this video I think all your work has been so good to see and you are able to achieve really quick results. I love the information you give about why you are doing it and what the dog needs opposed to some people just telling you what to do. I did have a question about the slip lead - some people are opposed to them as they believe them to be cruel on the dogs but I wondered what you would say to someone with that belief? Thanks again. Love your content.
This video was so helpful! After watching, I took my 9-week-old Lab out for 20 minutes and I would say she is already almost halfway to a heel. Thank you so much.

I have a 9 week old lab and won't be taking him on walks until 2 weeks after his second lot of vaccinations. So I'm doing micro sessions of 3 mins or less.
Best ever, I got a 75% lab 25% boxer puppy. Sliplead won't stay high in the neck yet, think he has to grow a bit more? He is almost 11 weeks, and everyone surprised on how good he does... Thanks to all these vids.
“Stop focusing on the micro actions” this is exactly what I was missing. Thank you.

Hi Will. Thank you again for a lovely joyous video of dog training. I think it also needs to be said that owners need to be prepared to put in the necessary time when the dog is at this age to establish this crucial bond. And why wouldn't you want to if you have such a beautifully lively puppy like Riley. Many thanks to all of you.
HIT THE SAME WAVELENGTH WITH THIS MAN ...TRUE CANINE THOR...A HAPPY ENGAGED DOG IS SAFE IN EVERY ENVIROMENT FROM EXPERIENCED PTSD MILITARY TEAM ..HIGH 5 BRO
we are getting our second labrador pup ...our 12 year old precious old lab passed in august . she was a massive puller , which was hard to overcome. Watching this video has given me the confidence to start early with new pup on leash pulling. Im very small and petite and can get pulled literally off my feet. Does being small make a difference in training? im going to be doing the most training this time as hubby is working full time. He is 6 foot and trained our last pup. Many thanks
I've noticed in a couple of these videos the positive reinforcement you can provide when the puppy does what you want to follow you and look up to you with the change of directions. When I've tried this though, I have found its possible for the puppy to be stubborn and want to continue on its chosen direction or sometimes change direction, follow you and accept the praise, but then bolt ahead and pull into the changed direction. These videos are less clear on what to do it the puppy doesn't give you a behaviour to praise initially.

Whatever reward your using isn't motivating enough for pup, your reward needs to be better in pups eyes than the environment surrounding them. Try some higher quality rewards like chicken, sausage etc.

Its more of an engagement issue. I would recommend more games and more “vocal praising” rather than using food. In every walk and game they will learn to follow your lead
