Love this. I’ve been training in the pool this winter. Most of the videos and books make it waaaay more complicated than it needs to be. This video was instructional, easy to understand and Gert is unassuming, funny and a very likeable personality. Thank you Gert.

thanks for the kind words RayGun! pool training doesn't need to be complicated. especially at a beginner level. Playing and having fun is far more important to create positivity and motivation. The brain needs to enjoy the training ✌️

Thanks Richard. Yes actually doing the breathhold under water would be better, it depends on how many weights you have on you. I guess I thought I wouldn't be able to read my dive computer under water that's why I came up. Good point!

this one is 800gr it's the one I use for deep diving with 1.5mm wetsuit. More weight in the pool would give me more glide, but that's not what I'm looking for.

50m is already quite something, especially without fins. don't be too hard on yourself. Freediving at an advanced level takes years of training. 50 is ok. peace.

@@sugoidesu3761 it's all about getting comfortable in the water. The moment you feel like a fish in the water is the moment you can hold your breath longer. At your level i advise you to go follow a course so you can be taught the basic principles of freediving. All the best ! and always dive with a buddy! cheers

@@sugoidesu3761 all the best and please inform yourself about the dangers of freediving. It's a bad idea trying these things out on your own, or with a friend that doesn't have experience either in freediving. People die by loosing consciousness under water.. Please go find someone with experience who can guide you through the first steps! Cheers!
