on point. we inherited a Cat Hospital resident, who was familiar with the box already. a twist: when he Piddled, he got a pinch of treats. when he pooped, he got his Bobbly Snacky mouse toy stuffed with treats. our home doesn't have "that" smell--he makes sure we do our job every time, on time!!

I bought my cat at 4 months of age and she's still making mistakes. It would be great to show her what to do on video. She sits on my lap when I'm the computer so she could watch easily. I feel she would greatly benefit from watching. I just can't find any videos of happily peeing cats in a open litter-box.

does anyone have advice for litter training a elder cat who is used to using the bathroom outdoors? i'm moving next year and want to bring a 13-year-old cat who is bonded with me, but he isn't litter trained like our primarily indoor cats, so i'm not sure how to help him understand the concept of litter boxes at such an old age. i will be bringing him to a vet before the move so i have more tailored advice, but if anyone has successfully litter trained an older cat i would be so grateful for the advice :)

Same issue but additional challenge is that he was recently blind💔 he has been peeing all over the floor for a week and have no idea how to teach him since treats doesn’t motivate him

Oh gosh, same problem here. Mine's an elder, outdoor cat who has sustained severe injuries and is in a cat suit and can't be let out until the wound heals. It's been an utter nightmare. If you have any suggestions, would really appreciate it

My adult cat is 4 and he has diarrhea because of food change and he was a stray and will not use the litter box what can I use

I have a 6 years old cat and he is just not the sharpest pencil in the box. Sometimes he poops in the right place, sometimes not. I have already tried different litters, litter boxes, places, cleanliness degree, positive reinforcement - nothing works or gives garantee that he will poop in the litter box. However he always pees in the box. Im starting thinking about it like it is his temperament idk...

I recently acquired a cat with the same issues. He is about 11months old and rarely, he poops in his well manicured cat box but seems to have no problem urinating there. Does anyone have advice on this matter?

@@traceeglenn7475 i've heard multiple people that have an extra litter box say that their cats poo in one and pee in the other, without training. Probably has something to do with the smell and the fact that cats are incredibly clean animals.

I heard some prefer to use different litterboxes to pee in and poop in for some reason.. So this might help.

@@lilbookarina89 unfortunately no solution yet.. maybe I should try 2 boxes once again. Still I think it is just his character or lack of training back when he was a kitten..

I always clean it but he no longer goes due to hypercalcemia. I also think he's got a bit lazy. Like he wants to throw up instead of going as he was never prescribed an antiemetic for his gastrointestinal problem. And yes he has a history of worms.

Can help me my cat does in washroom but now I want to let him do in the liter but he ignores that he is an adult cat 3 years old

My newly adopted 6 month kitten is persian so hes a big cat in size, he for some reason pees in the pan and poops in random places in the room we have kept him in(he comes out dw hes not isolated) pls help me!

Did you take her to the vet? It can be a sign of an undiagnosed medical condition.

i bought a car from my boyfriend, fully potty trained (i’ve seen) the cat is around a month own and when i took it in my house it won’t go. It peed next to the food bowl and i’m pretty sure it pooped but i can’t find it, its been 24 hours and im concerned! maybe its the litter?

I have never had to train any of my cats (I'm over 70, and have had several). I just put down the tray full of clean litter and my cats used it automatically.

My cat uses the litter box a 6:1 ratio. Still confused.

I'm trying to teach an out door cat, about 6 months old, to transition into an indoor cat since she had to get her leg amputated and needs a more sterile environment. But I'm having a hard time getting her to actually use the litter box. Won't go anywhere near it. Any tips?

Did she end up using the litter box? My kitten won't but we only got her yesterday 😭

I have a kitten that5 months old and he will use the litter box about 80% of the time. The other 20% he goes on the floor right next to it. Is this normal and if not how do I correct it?

You need a larger litter box so they'll stay in it. Or try a covered box.

as much as possible keep them away from the area and clean it thoroughly so they can't smell any scent

You start training them as kittens to use the litter box

I have my cat since shes a kitten. But when she got 10 months old she started doing her mate calls which lead to her peeing & pooping all over the floor and bed. And still does that (shes 18months old and recently spayed)

I just tried this the kitty is 3 months old i tried the reward method on the first try she peed

The video is quite misleading, you need to punish cats when they do not do the right thing otherwise they will not respect you and think they own the house.

this is true in some cases, but keep in mind that when you punish a cat, they may not fully understand why they are being punished. they are not like human children who can understand the idea of cause and effect. in those cases they may develop stress and continue the unwanted behavior. because it's a possibility, it's best not to punish the cat at all and instead try alternatives like placing litter boxes in the spots they are continually using as a bathroom or take them to a vet to better understand the underlying issue. i hope this helps with understanding the nuances of this situation 💕

NO! What? You mean we should punish our cats for not using litter box properly and that it would teach them a better lesson? Keep in mind that the cats are very observing and emotional creatures and the bond that they share with us is the bond that should be respected and if you're the favorite person of a cat and if you punish them physically, that bond will break soon enough and would make your cat hate you and they'll start seeing you like they'd see any normal person. There are many and better options rather than beating your cat
