How to Track Video Completion with SCORM [inside Storyline]

Ғылым және технология

A student asked me a couple of weeks ago how they can track if a student completed a video inside Articulate Storyline 360. I wondered if their LMS supported xAPI, and they said no, it only supported SCORM. With xAPI, you could easily add a statement to fire at the end of the video, but with SCORM, it is a bit trickier.
With SCORM 1.2 and 2004, you can only track course completion, in progress, and quiz data. So, I use a true or false question behind the scenes to trigger the completion. As soon as the timeline is done, it changes the multiple selection options to true, and then I trigger the question to submit. A bit of a hack, but now you can track video completion.

Hey Jeff! Great topic, thanks for sharing this. You might want to check that the video goes blank at around 9:18 for about 10 seconds.

Wow, yeah must have deleted the portion of the video where I insert the results slide. I will check on that but I don't think KZread allows me to update a video once it is published but I will check. Thanks!

Hello, thanks for this information. Can this tracking be done after the course has already been uploaded with SCORM in the LMS?
