Are larger format 60x60cm tiles more difficult to lay and you need to back butter?

What about tiling over the top of existing quarry tiles. They allow dampness to come up, so what would I do about the moisture?

Hi, Mark. If you're looking to tile over existing quarry tiles, apply a liquid DPM (damp proof course) is one solution, it acts as a barrier against the damp. However, you may have problems with moisture pressure building up below the DPM. This could cause the DPM to fail, and the damp problem to return through the new floor. Hope this is helpful!

@@bandq Thanks, there is not a particular damp problem, it's just that I understood that quarry tiles were intended to be breathable therefore as you say, damp could build up.

I’m worried about asbestos in the floor tiles in a house I’m buying. Can I tile over it?

Hi there, as long as you're tiling onto a smooth, clean and level surface, this shouldn't be a problem. Although, it's not something we would recommend doing.

Take it off if possible, it'll be easier in the future to remove either of them then.

Is there any way to NOT put the tiles all the way under the cabients ? I found a tile I like and it’s Pretty expensive and to have to put under the cabients seems like a big waste
