How to tie Rob’s Bamboozler, one of my favorite Redfish flies for Summer, Fall, and Spring.
Materials used:
• Gamakatsu SC15 2/0
• Black UTC thread 210 denier
• Large bead chain eyes in silver
• Yellow olive barred rabbit strip
• Gold flash
• Brown bucktail
• Orange select marabou plumes
• Black and purple 3” EP craft fur brush
• 40lb mono for the weed guard
Obviously, you can substitute colors, weights, and hooks here to achieve different results with the same fly.
I had an exciting day trying new things! I recorded myself on video doing something and talking, tied a fly on the skiff, and did some solo fly fishing, and caught a fish on the fly I made just minutes before… Sounded way easier when I thought about it sitting at home, but I had wanted to try this for a while so I didn’t give up!
