How To Tie and Throw a Cowboy Lasso
Ойын-сауық
Lariat knot is an easy to tie knot, it is a strong knot on one end of the line, holding open a small fixed loop which the running end passes thru. Useful knot for snares, lassos, and the top loop on a wooden bow..

How many applications does a lariat loop have? A lifetime can be spent answering that question. I like the step-by-step still pics on the white board surface. Another way to look at its method. Also neat how complementary You Tube vids appear. RD
it works helping me sort out my sheep. thank you sir.

What's the difference between the lariat and the bowline knot?
@prestonvaughn1038
2 жыл бұрын
A bow line make a stiffer loop, the lariat is a smaller/easier to tie. The lariat is a very common roping knot
Thank you sir
Thanks man

30-90 feet. Tied hard ropers use 30 feet. Dally ropers use 30-90 feet depending on the type of loop and rope used.

I really wanted to learn this knot. I slowed it down to 25%. I have my role here but something is missing.
Is the actual knot supposed to slide or am I tying it rong
@vivelafrance6314
3 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is supposed to slide. You see, when you throw the lassos at something, and it goes around and attaches to it, you have to pull to make the loop smaller, thus tightening it. Hope this answers your question. :)
@AutoSearPin
3 жыл бұрын
Yes, it should be sliding up and down and never cinch up on itself.
@waltergigandet6715
3 жыл бұрын
The knot itself doesn’t slide down tight, when tension is yet up on the line the loop loosens. If it tightened on the line, a caught cow or horse would strangle before you could release it.
