Unless you wear a tie everyday, it's not necessary to know. Or get a clip on. Those are safer anyways

No worries about it mate, I've just discovered that I don't know everything. I've started a new job and we have to use a tie. I never thought about using a tie or how to tie it up. After many years as a carpenter and also, maintenance service in a hotel,I got the job of the front desk in this very place. So I must look elegant in the eyes of the guests.

I brushed up on how to do the basic knot, then decided to go the extra yard for the symmetrical, sharper look. I'm 15 and going to be a senior in high school so have to wear white shirts and ties, hope you got the job!!

I was spending all day panicking today, because I've worn a clip on tie throughout my school years, but our prefect ties are regular ones tie yourself. Been doing a half Windsor for *ever*, and I immediately love the symmetry this offers. Less easy to loosen, which is a trade-off. But great regardless.

Wichita Ks, I turned 40 today and turning over new leafs. My father wasn't there the most part of my life and you can call it pride I guess, but never wanted to admit I didn't know how to tie my own tie. Then I learned and realized I only knew how to tie a four in on, which I was never really happy with. It never looked right.
