Great video Glyn ! We learned the shock leader knot that u had a video on, great results on big blues in the surf, plus casting 4oz. Sinkers. Now trying to learn the braid to mono that u have video on ! Very detailed vids! Thanks again for what u do !
Albright Knot with a slight variation. If joining braid to a tapered shockleader then a Double Uni Knot with 6 turns on each side is just as strong and safe.
albright knot, very strong, i,ve been using it for years for my fly fishing. good video thanks
A good old saying to bare in mind "If you can't tie a knot, tie a lot" 😂😂😂
Works great for me. Thanks!
been using this knot, it's great thanks
I use something similar in that I’ll wrap it seven times up, seven times back (splitting the Tunisian seven wraps) & running back through the opposite side from which I started. I’ll usually put a dab of super glue on the knot as well.
How about some close ups

Thanks
Is that knot not an Albright special
can this knot be used to join mono to shockleader or is just for braid?

Yes mate it can, I use it tying 20lb sakuma mainline to 50lb shock leader.
Too long intro. Also need to stay on close up view, couldn't follow.
Too much at distance not enough close in camera footage
Need more close ups too hard to follow mate
Or you can take a all knowing friend on your trip and have a beer instead. Works for me.

Hello!
Why not step up the braid to 50lb and not bother with a shock leader?

Braid casts like crp from a multiplier. Digs in on itself when reeling in causing jerky casts.

Braid will provide minimal abrasion resistance. It’s best to stick w/ a shock leader or fluorocarbon tippet so your mono isn’t worn thru on the sand, shells, rocks, etc.
Flashing in and out.....annoying, as previously said should be close up right through.
Would be better if you would record from moon😀
That camera needs to get in tight on the hands and lines. Being creative recording wide angles doesn't help the viewer
Totally agree with the former comment, to much panning away with the camera, no offence but I’m not bothered about seeing you and the demonstration is flawed, in fact ruined by poor camera work and not enough detailed close focusing. Good tubes and great info, but let down by poor execution. DG New Forest UK still subscribed in hope of closer work for the British.
Next time get your camera man to focus on your hands not you !
