How to Throw a Gyroball. Part of the series: Baseball Tips & Tricks. In baseball, a gyroball was invented in Japan as a combination of using the body at the same time as the throwing motion occurs. One way I found to throw it is you hold the very edge of ball with your thumb and middle finger, and tuck in your index finger like a knuckle curve. When you throw it like a fast ball it slips out the side of your hand creating gyro spin. The only problem is it's hard to control

Wrong. A gyro is a fastball released like a football spiral. Anyone can throw it just as you throw a fastball.

The problem is a football is bigger and shaped different so it's easier to get gyro spin on it than a baseball

Yes sir. The pitch isn’t designed to break hard. It’s an optical illusion looking like a dropping slider but hangs up yet it doesn’t get clobbered like a hanging slider

I hear ya. It should roll off the hand naturally. I can’t get it, been fucking with it for 10 Years. Good pitch to have in the mix too
