Good concise video. Though I have a KayJI model tester (meter and load module), this video was helpful in my understanding on how to use the load tester. KayJI’s load module doesn’t have LEDs like your model, it appears other wise identical. KayJI’s documentation provided no help on using the load module. You nailed it. Thanks.

Gotta love the fact that this cheapo device has a memory chip, yet a number of significantly more expensive devices (e.g. some radios) STILL don't...

When testing the cable you would have to have a meter plugged in at the supply and delivery ends otherwise you are not only measuring what the cable is delivering but also what is being lost in the cable. Inadequate conductors act as resistors and lose power by way of heat, the meter would read this as power being delivered.

Is there a voltage flux if a magnet is near charging cable or on/ under charging cable? Will device read voltage changes if a magnet is on cable?

Thanks for this video. What USB tester do you recommend for QC4.0 devices with type-C? I would like to place the tester between the cable and the device (not between the charger and the cable)... Placing the tester just before the type-C device I should be able to test the charger's wire as well and see what current the device is really getting... Is this correct or am I missing something?

This is the best option: ali.pub/545y18 All USB testers have a male USB input connector. So you can connect them only directly to the USB port/charger. Even if there will be both USB-C ports on both sides you'll need some adapters to make it work.

@@ElectronicsComputers Thanks for your reply. Yes, type C is on both sides (QC4 charger and QC4 phone). So if I buy the tester you suggested I would need an extra type C cable (charger > type C cable > tester > type C cable > device). Right?

Hello. Just need a clarification. How come the output reading of a USB plug has 3 data. I am looking for a fast USB plug to be used as an adaptor to my rechargeable battery device. I have two plugs. Data as follows: USB Plug1 Data - Input 100V-240V ~50/60Hz 0.5A Output: DC 5V==3A / 9V==2A / 12V==1.5A USB Plug2 Data - Input 100V-240V ~50/60Hz 0.75A Output: DC 5V==2A / 4.5V==5A / 5V==4.5A Which is suitable and fast charging of two?

theirs a really cheap adjustable load tester, around $5 when i bought it, it has a knob so u could adjust anywhere zero to whatever resistance it went up to, it had a little tiny fan on it, im actually goin to go see how much the prices come up n try to get one now...

I'm also thinking about getting that one. Counting shipping to my country, the one on the video costs $1.75 and the adjustable one costs $3.69. But what's the point in having more than 3 power draw steps and in the fan? It's just 15 Watts at maximum.

The voltage of the data line is not gonna tell you a lot. That voltage vary depends on manufacturer and the specs of the charger. Some chargers don't have any voltage on data line pins, some chargers have shorted data line and some have resistor in parallel to those pins. That voltage is used by your phone or whatever you charge to recognize the type of the charger (quick charge/power delivery) and its power. Sure, but not at the maximum load because those resistors will overheat and burn out.

Can you use this to check an aerogarden USB led connection?

not really. This tester only shows the voltage in your USB port and the current that connected device draw. And if you connect a chargeable device into that tester it will show you approximate battery capacity (if you charge that device from 0%-100%).

Error 9 could be for a number of reasons, some of them fixable, some of them not. It's definitely hardware issues. What worked for me a few times is simply disconnecting the front panel with LCD and cameras from the logic board basically you have to leave only battery and USB board connected to the logic board and then connect to iTunes and try to restore your system.

Can you tell me the brand please (starting out so would like to get a cheap one to try out). Thanks

The voltage should be: 5.00-5.25V and the current at maximum load up to 0.5A for USB 2.0 and 0.9A for USB 3.0
