Got a tip from a clutch specialist.... If the clearance between the pressure forks and the release bearing is too big you must add shims or a washer on each bolt between pressure plate and flywheel, otherwise you will find hard to get gears.... This especially happen when you resurfaced (skimmed) the pressure plate

Hi, just wanna know what can be the problem on my City Golf VW Mike 1 and reverse gear, bcz at fist the 1st gear couldn't work properly it was so too hard unless the engine is off then I can put it and start, now I feel like the place where supposed to be 1st is like 3 gears bcz the car is to hv when is moving and it seems like is 3,4and 5 gears that works.

That can be caused by lots of factors, it might be your gear box, or your bearing not engaging or pressing the pressure plate hard enough, and remember that when the engine is running the dif in the box is in motion too, so it will be hard for you to change gears without disengaging the pressure plate. My pressure plate feels depressed when tighten to the flywheel before the bearing is imposed What should I change??

Is that pressure plate worn out or it's still. Fine cos mine as that grove
