I had no idea my walking belt on my Sole F85 treadmill was worn out and needed to be replaced. The center of the belt was worn smooth on the inside and caused my motor controller to fail. I was just going to replace the controller and am glad I saw this video as I replaced the belt as well.

Great vid. This is an issue with many electronics. Blows other things when patron interface is worn.

Good video! Question-when checking for the amps it’s pulling, where are you connecting to with your multimeter... to the motor leads?

Thank you for the insight on this confusing issue. I just ordered a Sole F63 and I'm determined to do a better job of monitoring and maintaining than I did with the the Horizon T101 it is replacing and ordered the BALDR electricity monitor you recommended in another video In your opinion, what sort of mileage should I expect from the belt on the F63 assuming it is kept lubed as directed? I will be using the HIIT program at the lower levels for about 1 hour daily and my wife walks at low speed about 30 minutes daily.

Well thank you I am not sure on mileage any more The walk belts on home units would last 8 to 10 years back in the day ! Now they seem to last 3 to 5 years. That is why the amps are so important to track from the beginning! Then check every 3 months or so. A worn walking belt can cause lots of issues.Keep it lubed it should have a light wet feel to it at all times .... Dave

Great video thanks. I only use my 6 year old Sole F60 Treadmill for walking at about 3 MPH about 45 minutes a day, Replaced the belt, motor and controller about 3 years ago. Controller went bad about 3 months ago, had it repaired and it blew again after 1 month, Now found this video and did a amp test and got the results below. The belt does not feel smooth. Could it be the belt again, I think I lube it enough? I have the controller back repaired again, don't want to blow it again, Thoughts. Mine amps 230lbs at 3 MPH 3MPH - 1.75 -1.85 no one on it 3MPH - 6.5-7.5 walking on outside 3MPH - 8.0-8.6 walking on inside

I have a Sole F63 and I’m having an issue with the machine where it will not slow down from a higher speed. I tried a recalibration because I had an LS1 code, but that didn’t work. What could be the issue?

Can a bad belt trigger a ls low speed error? The error only triggers for me when someone is on it and sometimes not for several minutes.

All the time. Be careful the next thing that happens is the worn belt overheats the controller and it ruins the controller . Me your serial number to Fitnesspartspro@gmail I can send you links for testing and links for the right parts

I have a Sole F80 Treadmill that I purchased back in 2009. I have only walked on it, but not on a regular basis. I have been using it daily now for 2 weeks for about 30 minutes a day. Tonight I was on it for about 5 minutes, but then the walking belt stopped immediately and I got the LS error. The board lights still come on & it starts to count, but the treadmill won't move...even when I try to move it manually with my legs. It's like stuck in place. What do you think is wrong?

Well I hate to but two things normally when the treadmill stops the motor controller went bad but if you can’t push it with your feet then your walk belt is badly worn .which most worn belt ruin the controller see my video on testing your belt with bad controller

Hi there, my treadmill turns on and when i try to incline before use or start the speed my house circuit breaker trip's, i plugged the treadmill into another side of the house on a different circuit breaker and the same problem. The lights on the board always are on when i reset the house circuit breaker but everything shuts down on incline or motor start, the power wires all look fine, what could this be ? Thankyou

This sounds like a bad controller, unhook the incline motor, then the walk motor and see if it works with no power load. Send me a pic of controller and model number to Fitnesspartspro@gmail.com so I can see what system you have

Sole sent me a new motor and also a motor controller as my motor burned out(not sure why they sent a controller as it looks fine and I witness the motor blowout, smoke and all). My treadmill is fairly new(Purchased Aug 2019 F85). The motor started to smoke above 6MPH and then it burned out completely. After I replace the motor and do the amp test you are doing(check idle at 3mph as well as with someone on it) If I get the figure you get, I guess I need to look at the belt, if anything I am worried that it is overlubed. There is only like 180 miles and 63 hours on the unit, I lubed it up not too long ago. Belt also looks brand new. You have any ideas what could cause the motor to burn out so early in life? Is it just a faulty motor or do you think I should replace the controller as well? I do have a clamp meter, any other test you would recommend? I would hate to smoke another 90V DC 30amp 4000RPM F85 motor... Thanks

Sole I guess knows what they are doing, I replaced the motor, and the new motor has no friction in the rotation like the blown one has, feels smoother. Unfortunately still getting an E-6 error (that is what would display with the blown motor). Same shows even if I attempt to calibrate it. Guess I'll get to cutting glue and attempt to change out the motor controller they sent. Thanks for your video on that!

Cyrus Fox Yep change the controller that is odd the motor would go so soon ? Not sure why . If your amp reading are in the normal range After controller change I would think it’s ok .How much lube have you used should be a smooth coat on unit .Use their lube one tube should feel like a runny nose 😒not soaked but wet .wipe it off if you feel like it’s too much .And yep their is lots of glue lots sometimes E/6 is a communications error mostly controller issue . And the motor may be 30 Amp but the controller blows at 20 . Let me know how it go’s Thanks Dave
