How To Test a Watch Using Calypso Waterproof Tester

Ойын-сауық

A simple guide how to use a pressure tester and how to test the waterproofness of a watch.
The pressure gauge on the tester shows the unit: 1kg/sq cm ≈ 0.98 bar, 1MPa = 10 bar.
This particular watch I will test to 3 bar = 3ATM = 30M
I use only distilled water to prevents mineral deposits building up in the tester.
Step 1: Fill the chamber with
Step 2: Hang the watch and close the lid tight
Step 3: Pressurize the chamber to the target pressure
Step 4: Wait 3 minutes and lower the watch in to the water
Step 5: Slowly release all air
Step 6: Look carefully to the bubbles
Hope you enjoy the video😊

Besides the bubbles rising to the surface of the water I still don’t understand what point do you take to know that water doesn’t get inside the Watch ? Thank you for sharing.

The bubbles are just air underneath the bezel. Important is no bubbles from crystal, crown or case back. Thank you for watching ☺️

I would've been less nervous if you tested the case without the movement! 😁

How can you tell if the bubbles are from the bezel or the crystal?

Over the camera difficult. In reality I have a glass tube and look around to locate any leaking.

I'm assuming that the bubbles mean that the watch failed the test. Oh well - it is an old watch.
