I show how I terminate Ethernet cables and discuss the tools I use. I also go over the types of terminations (568-A and 568-B) and how to make a crossover cable.

Hey great video mate. Never done it before and was looking around for a lesson on how to use the crimp tool. You explained it perfectly. Thanks for your efforts, much appreciated.
Hey i terminated all my RJ45's like a pro after this video!!! :) thanks again!!
Great training video, thanks
Awesome. Glad I could help.
Great technique! I always struggle with this. But I think you should switch white blue and blue. They should be reversed according to the other pairs. But it don't matter if you do it at both ends, and it does not affect ethernet function. white orange, orange, white green, blue, white blue, green, white brown, brown
@pilleyuppo23 Thanks. I did wire it as you said, white orange, orange, white green, blue, white blue, green, white brown, brown per the 568B spec. I had to watch the video to make sure I hadn't miss wired it :-)
@diyengineer Hey. You just need shielded RJ45 connectors, then you can connect (or solder) the drain wire to the shield on the jack. I'll PM you a link
@widgetwerks OK. Sorry. I misheard you. But then It's all great :-) Keep up the good work. Looking forward to your next CNC-video. (on your other channel)
I have 9 conductor stranded shielded 24AWG wire. (going to use it to run to my encoders). I want to terminate them with the RJ45 jacks. It says 24AWG 9C+1. I'm assuming the +1 is a shield ground.. anyways what correct RJ45 ends do i need? It looks just like "cat5" but i bought a 100' in bulk because the price was so good and it is pretty flexible stuff.
@kurtln Thanks!
@broozer1958 Thanks!
you need to redo this and get the camera much closer.
