How to tell FAKE or REAL Genuine CANON LP-E6 Battery!
Ойын-сауық
Countefeit batteries are becoming more and more harder to tell the difference. Always buy from an authorized dealer. I bought one from a seller claiming to be genuine, but it was clearly counterfeited. I ordered directly from Amazon and received the real one.

thanks for the video. Just found out mine was fake even though the seller of ebay listed it as genuine. Going to open a claim with paypal.
Thank you for the video! Helped a lot!
so if its 7 characters total and one of them is a letter is it fake still?
Mine has 7 digits plus one letter. Does that mean it's fake? I don't believe it. The battery comes from a set (purchased in a shop selling only legal products) which includes the body, kit lens, etc. The battery was sealed.
Does the Unique number only contain numbers and not letters as well? ?
I bought my on Amazon not too long ago but now it's dead won't charge. Sometimes you don't know what to trust anymore :(
How much does it cost?
Great vid thank you!
Thanks!
I wonder if the Pin code LP-E6NH UKCA is genuine
respect!
Some dealers on Amazon also sell counterfeits

you need grip battery for your camera
that is bullshit there are just digit numbers in real canon batteries it also have letters if you buy it from a legal canon dealers you do not have to worry
I disagree about the information about the numbers. This video from Canon, so is reliable, shows batteries info with numbers and letters. kzread.info/dash/bejne/dKWKqaeBpNbeYJM.html
This corporate FUD really angers me. As long as a battery has the same voltage and sufficient capacity to deliver that rated voltage a decent amount of time it doesn't matter who made it to the camera owner. It only matters to the corporation in terms of lost revenue. The only characteristics besides voltage that matters to the user are the packaging to prevent/avoid leakage and the number of duty cycles (how many times it can be depleted and recharged) it has. This "fake" and "counterfeit" name-calling is not useful to the user. It only keeps people ignorant. Granted buying the name brand gives easy reassurance but a message saying "Using off brand batteries voids your warranty" or "Use at your own risk" is sufficient. No need for a fear campaign.

+enorbet2 Agreed, paying for the name. I recently took a gamble on a "Fake" battery for my G7x and the "Fake" one lasts longer than the original. I now need to find a replacement battery for my 700D

Virtually all fake batteries have lower quality build. None of my aftermarket batteries have lasted near as long as the original genuine Canon battery. They also don't have near their claimed advertised capacity. I do agree the Canon batteries are way overpriced and I would be happy to buy aftermarket if the quality can be shown to be there. Can anyone confirm a different experience? Also this video may not be totally trustworthy. Manufacturers do vary the way they package and serialize items as time goes on, or if they have multiple manufacturing/packaging sites, or multiple target markets.
Man i bought a second hand 60d from a seller which i oftenly bought from and trusted. The battery info had a 7 digit code
I bet the batteries are made in the same factory like many products are one is sold cheaper and one is sold as a genuine so it does not have to be a fake one they can be made in the same factory but shipped to different retailers that package them differently
