Stephen Shore: Uncommon Places. In 1973 Stephen headed out on the road alone in his car with his plate camera in the trunk and just started shooting random places on the road for weeks. He then did it each year from 1973-1981, the results are uncommon places. The book is rad af.
Before images were splattered over the Internet, I would crave rock magazines, photo mags, and National Geographic. I'd read the stories, but, the great joy was the images. Looking over the photographs multiple times as if I had not noticed something within. That's all lost now. Swiping and turning pages are entirely different. Great episode. Please keep 'em coming!
Ah yes coffee and film- welcome to Peter McKinnon

This is what photography is about! Story telling, sharing, and just being fun and making something cool.
Well done! The effort and passion are evident.
This series is a guaranteed way to revive people making photo books. Can't wait!
Like the new series concept.
Love this idea for a new series of videos! There are so many photographers from back in the day that you might not find on social media. And it’s a great way to view photography and read about photographers and their stories and attitudes about their art.
Love this, hearing the stories behind the image is what I like most about our camera club, and seeing photos from those that travel more than me. Jeff's book is georgous.
Pete this is awesome! I love making photo books. It’s something about seeing your work in a physical form it’s magical.
Love this new series. Thanks, man.
This was one of my favorite videos so far this year. ❤ looking forward to this new series. Thanks Pete! Great work.
I really love this new series Peter!! So full of passion, energy and love for the art! Can’t wait for episode 2 and youe upcoming book as well

I like the warm lighting here. Cool look!
Wow, its like we all have been waiting to see such videos which are so different and inspiring. Thanks Pete!
This is going to be a great series, Peter! Thank you for doing this!
Excellent as always! Inspiration comes from so many places and is essential for someone behind the camera! You sir, never fail to provide! Either directly from your work or by sharing what inspires you! Thank you! Truly! -Matt Stagmer
Thanks for sharing, Pete! Exciting for your own photo book!
This edition was pure nirvana! I am a fan of Jeff's work also, but never got my hands on the book itself. So thank you Peter! I really-really enjoyed this video, and keep them coming! 😊
Love this new series and you walking us through it... like CliffsNotes!
As always this video has been done tastefully. Thank for bringing so much joy and excitement for these little things in our lives that we wouldn't have recognized if it were not for you
YES! I love this series!
Awsome addition to your playlists. I loved the storytelling.
'he was taking selfies in 1998...' that was great!
Loved this video. I’ve been on a social media and KZread break. There wasn’t anything out there that got my attention, I was growing tired of all the people I normally watched. This is the first video I’ve watched on KZread in a while and it gave me that feeling again. Inspired! Peter, you nailed it with this one. Loved it.
Incredible. Absolutely love this idea for a series. And I am blown away by Jeff's photos.
Love the combination of your cinematography and your sharing what you learnt! ❤
Follow you for a couple of years now on youtube, I never get tired of watching your little films, and listen to your stories. Thanks for that. Really helpful content and very very inspirational :)
I used a Widelux for many years as a photojournalist and documentary photographer. I even got hired to shoot an annual report all with the Widelux. It's a remarkable tool in the right hands. I hope you will continue with the "Book Club!"
Anyone remember when Peter took Matti over 1m? Now Peter been stuck at 5,9m for ages. Let’s share and take this channel past 6million! ✌️
Love the new theme and fresh energy and inspiration that comes through
This is EXACTLY what I've been wanting to do with collection of photo books! Great stuff Pete 🔥
What a great idea Peter! Over my years, I've seen just a few memorable photography books. I love that you're gonna introduce me to a few more!
The VO was just stellar. Before I died I want to see Steven Rinella and PK in the same video. I can dream right. Appreciate you Peter.
Fantastic video. I like the concept and enjoyed the content. It’s like a coffee table book about coffee tables that IS a coffee table itself.
Early gang! And I always the storytelling videos you produce. Amazing work as always
This was fun. Learned a lot. I love this book club.
Finally a book club for photographers!
Love this series lad, keep doing you and keep being you :D whatever that means But honestly your passion is unparalleled and quite effin contagious. Cheers to many more

Bro… do more of these PLEASE! I started in landscape photography, much like you. I’m now at a point in my photography career where I’m trying other genres in search of actual stories.
Great! Great! You have such a sincerity about you when talking about this book amd the storytelling aspect of photos. Love it!
absolutely fantasic video. really looking forward to more of these
This was awesome! Love the new series
You talking about film at the beginning got me so excited because my wife and I are diving into instant film photography now. It's so different than digital and so fun.
I love this!! We do coffee and cameras in my town every Monday! And we talk about projects and books we find!

Yes! More Please. I am always inspired when I watch your videos . If I feel a down-and-out moment coming on I watch a pinch or two of P. McKinnon and I'm good to go for the rest of the day.
Please keep ‘em coming ❤️
I like this new series! gives me some 2018 PM vibe that I miss!
Love this new series!!!!
Great series. I am looking forward to more.
thanks for the inspiration!
This is so good. I need more of this in my life.
Mate please please please keep on going with the book club! For my personal preference always start with prepping a coffee (your way of choice) and tell us something about the coffee and why you chose it for this episode. THIS would be my cherry on the cake. I already love it! Thanks Pete 🙏
That was freaking cool! Keep it up!!
Great new series, loving it.
Love this!!
Love this new series!

Dude, the work you put into every shot? Mad nice
Great video! Look forward to more from this series! It looks like your old 1DXii in the back. Would love to you film a future video on your old workhorse, just for nostalgia sake!
This. This was good, Peter. Thank you.
A return to coffee table books, I like it. Thanks for sharing.
I super enjoyed this video and I'm looking forward to more episodes! Also, I'm low key envious of your ferrari mug :)
Aw man this is awesome. Iv wanted this book for a while. Just haven’t got around to buying it. Love the new video idea 🤙
if you ever make a photo book, please please please PLEASE, don't make it a limited drop, I'm 15 in the middle of highschool, and you are by far my favorite photographer. the reason why I am saying please not to make it a limited drop, it is... tough for me to get ahold of the limited drops that you do (I think I speak for more than just myself when that is said), and I wish that I could've gotten each and every one of them. But the photobook would absolutely be the one that id be saddest about if I missed out on it. So, back to my original point, PLEASE don't make it limited edition, and once again I think I speak for more than just myself when I say that. :) P.S. (am loving the new series, already I'm going to have to try to get my hands on this photobook too! great vid!)
Nice vid -I like this format! Also, I, too, dig the square bill.
Thanks for sharing pete🥰❤
such an amazing story Pete, thanks so much for sharing. Jeff truly brings the art of photography to life with the interesting compositions and unique angles. Funny enough Ive always loved wide angle composites for the same reason, as you get a unique feel and perspective of the photographer's vision. I started doing them in 2006/07 on film and would scan/merge the shots in PS. i even did a vertical pano of a rainy vancouver street with oak trees, on film!
And Peter found out about things called books and has discovered that they are better than social media...... Great job. 👌🏻
I love photo books. Take Robert Franks “The Americans” ,Seydou Keita “Photographs Bamako Mali”, Ansel Adams Ansel Adams in Colour” Horst Harman “ Paris Vertical “ & “New York Vertical”just to name a few!
Amazing book indeed. It also helps that the sets were set up with perfect lighting so one less hurdle to overcome.
Love it! This new series is really awesome… Jeff Bridges Rocks!! Can’t wait for the next episode…
Chasing Awe - Gavin Hardcastle - Huge fan since the one wheel Peter thx for all you have given & shared with the world...
the selfie was surreal! I gotta try that as well
HEY! How great is this video, help me a lot in my youtube channel and my personal life, thank u for this video
