Two thoughts on this that could maybe improve things??? Different shaped button bases to more easily tell them apart, and also protanopia friendly colors for dogs as can't see red light, and while cats can the same color range as us, they're not as sensitive to saturation and vibrancy as we are.

It would be cool if buttons came in colors that dogs can distinguish, like various shades of blue Or better yet, if each button had a different smell, that way they might be able to use the buttons no matter what order they're in.

That was such a good video and so well explained!! I like the fact that you didn't PUSH the brand your beta tested but still explained hoe to set any product the you buy out. Because you DIDNT push the brand you mentioned I find my self more interested in it and it's layout. Thanks for the great videos 💛💜 Thanks Bunny 🐶 P.s I love how she says love you Mum.

Thank you foraking this! 😁👍I've been looking for a comprehensive video like this is the only one that I could find it's actually clear and gives logical steps. a lot of the other ones jump around all over the place or go through multiple steps but then tell you that they messed up and to forget certain parts which is very confusing.

I wonder if it'll help to place pictures of the target vocabulary instead of using text labels. Of course, abstract ideas will be more difficult. And maybe even using scents like smearing dog food on the food button will help them associate the target vocabulary to the buttons easier.

But what about adding visual pictures (such as communicate in print and colourful semantics), including makaton (incase their learning style is visual) and encouraging them to speak it after pressing the buttons so that we can actually help animals to develop the vocal apparatus and mental apparatus to eventually speak in the future - we can then employ them to look after old people and disabled people (mental health/learning difficulties people). I’d prefer this then relying on robots that could enslave us 😱🎃🌈

But, how does the dog distinguish between the buttons of the same colour? Yes, the sound he/she knows, but how does the dog know WHICH blue button is the right one? Do you move it to the board and always keep in that place so that the dog associates the sound with a specific placement on the board?

  • @AkaneQ

@@knaludden9104 As a matter of fact I'm not very informed myself, but I know that recent studies showed that dogs DO see colour, just in a different way. But in this case, even if the dog knew the difference between blue and green, there are still so many buttons so... Since they can't read.. I assume they use muscle memory? They remember the placement of the correct button? 🤔

Omg, I hope Elon Musk figures out a way to install Neuralink in dogs and associate their brain patterns to many words so dogs can communicate to us just like Dug from the Disney movie, Up. Must be frustrating limiting a dog to a couple dozen words and making them remember where the buttons are and having the coordination to press them. Such a limited bandwidth.
