How to Teach Guided Reading Virtually

Who would have ever thought that teachers would be responsible for teaching guided reading to their students remotely!?! After 9 weeks of remote teaching, and 5 weeks of using Zoom to teach my guided reading groups, I FINALLY figured out something that works for me and my students! In this video, I share with you my tips for how to hold guided reading groups virtually, on Zoom.

Very helpful video. So do your students have 2 different devices with them during virtual guided reading? One for the Google Meet and one for the passage they are reading independently? Just trying to understand how they can view a text and be on your video call at the same time.

@@inspiremeasap8151 Ok, that's what I thought. Are you having students read round robin style? Normally I listen in to one reader at a time during group, while the others read to themselves. But that would be kind of hard to do on zoom. Just found out my district is going remote so I'm trying to wrap my head around how this should look. Thanks for letting me pick your brain!
