How To Tattoo: Beginner's Mistakes - Tattooing 101

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Are you wanting to know more about tattooing?
In this video I share with you not only how I tattoo but I also share with you the thought process, the logic that I use and the moves I make and why along the way. I share with you a different way to think when tattooing and I feel thinking this way is a great place for beginners to start. The idea of this video is to not tell you the only way you can tattoo but the idea of this video is to show you other ways you can approach tattooing that are more suitable for beginners.
Mistakes WILL be made but as a beginner we have to understand that we are going to make PLENTY of mistakes, I feel it is pointless to shoot for perfection. We should simply always strive for the best that we can do for today. If you pay attention you will notice that some of my lines in this video are a bit wonky and I even forgot a tiny line and don't get me started with some of the nails. This is a GREAT example as to some mistakes we will make and you can see first hand why.
Be kind to yourself, understand your mistakes and figure out methods to help prevent making them in the future. With enough time, practice and effort these issues will begin to fade and your new methods will begin to shine through.
Should you have any questions feel free to drop it in the comment section below and I will do my best to assist you in the best possible direction.
I will also leave my amazon affiliate and other affiliate links for you below so you can check out the gear that is featured in this video on your end.

Hey, when using a 1roundliner i have trouble depositing the ink into the skin. Do you have any idea how to fix that? I don't have the same problem when using 3rl or bigger needles. Thanks!

This was the best start off to my day in awhile! Fantastic video Daniel! Fantastic video as always, and all the more this one felt different. I don't know if it was an outside factors type thing, or, if you were trying something new in your explanations as a whole, but I wanted to compliment you for it! I am always so very grateful for all the hard work and time that you put into this community you have built and for the invaluably helpful tips for beginner videos. I will forever be grateful for not only you helping me get started on the right path of tattooing BUT ALSO for keeping me moving on that path each and every day. You are the best teacher that anyone could ever ask for. The care is in your voice and it makes all the difference. Blessings to you and your family Daniel! You are appreciated brother! Please NEVER stop being you!

hello! thank you so much for this video. my main two questions are, 1) how to i stop being so shaky with fake skin? i recently tattooed on real skin for the first time and didn't have this issue, but everything seems to vibrate with the fake skin everytime i practice on it. and 2) how can you tell if you're filling your needle with ink correctly? i seem to always have an issue with filling it "too much" and it makes it hard to tattoo a line with any clarity.

Don’t breathe as your about to pull or push a line. Don’t use your wrist when lining move your whole shoulder& when filling the cartridge or needle tip, obviously have them machine running as you’re about to dip. Don’t put the cartridge tip or the disposable. Whatever you’re using into the ink just the needle itself. Usually majority of the time cartridges and disposable tips will usually be see-through so therefore you’re able to see how much ink is left in your cartridge or needle tip about two seconds and with fake skin it’s gonna vibrate a lot more. You just gotta get used to it just by you saying that the skin vibrates a lot more with the machine and everything. It’s probably some shitty Amazon skin reelskinusa you can go directly on the site and buy it or I like to look on Amazon sometimes they’ll give you like a pound or two for $50-$100. I recently just bought 2 pounds of it for around $85 and 15 for shipping.

Personally what i do when i tatto synthetic skin is i let the stencil dry for at least 8 hours or so before tattoing. Also, i use johnson's baby oil to clean the skin after i finish the tattoo. Hope this helps!

Thats a great question! I use a heat gun to apply my stencils and I also use simple petroleum jelly to clean my fake skins. I will link you below to a couple of videos I created where I talk about these topics more in depth. sometimes when using reelskin fake skin, after I pull a line It will leave a rip in the fake skin, especially when using 3rl, do you know what could be the cause?

He’s mentioned that in his previous videos, if you’re overworking the skin at an incorrect depth (especially with 3rl) it acts like a blade and cuts the skin instead of depositing ink

If you’re a beginner he recommends to stay away from 3rl and practice with thicker liners/shaders like 7rl-12rl etc
