Having this current problem. Upon a meeting with the coworker she immediately started critisizing me, yelling at me and blatantly lying. I told my boss that i was done with the meeting and exited the building. Some ppl you just cannot communicate with and my coworker is one of them.

I'm so sorry you're having to deal with such a difficult person. I've been there myself. I do hope you can schedule a time to discuss the issues with your boss and come up with a resolution to the situation. Take to the meeting "proof" to counter the other person's allegations. Also, make sure you have calmed down (I know it can be nerve racking) abut try to speak about the situation in a calm and professional manner. Prove how this person is causing (not you) but the business money (ex: delays is getting a project done, etc.). Hope his helps!

good advice but supervisors especially sneaky ones are masters at turning the table and lie to make it look like your the trouble maker, snitch, or disruptive to the office!

Unfortunately maturity doesn’t always go hand in hand with the position a person holds especially an elevated one. Document, document, document and if things get bad then go to HR. Some companies (these days) have an anonymous hotline you can also call depending on the situation. Wishing you much continued success! Thanks for watching!

That’s exactly what happened two days ago when I complained about a coworker. He made me feel like I was the trouble maker. He didn’t have patience to listen to the whole thing and interrupted like so many times. Then I realised supervisor like this only care about you get work done to reach the team’s target. They don’t care about what the issues are. They shut down whatever you bring up.

Make an appointment with them and be to the point about the topic. Keep your convo professional…show how your work is being affected by the other person. Keep it business and not personal. Make sure you have proof of what your stating whether documented of occurrences; i.e., when you’ve missed a deadline and so on. Good luck. Thanks for watching!!

The receptionist at work is very lazy and I have to work around her. Today she was exasperated about having to book a client instead of being on facebook. It's not my job to talk to her or keep her secret of her being so lazy. I need to talk to the boss about it.... I'm going to be straight forward and hope for the best. It's not personal.

I like to suggest for you to tell your boss “how” that’s affecting your work or ability to do your job. As you stated it’s not personal so keep the conversation on the business side of things. Bosses typically will appreciate that approach. Good luck and wishing you much continued success!

@@RecruitingMaven thank you. It went well as the boss (and her daughter) had the same concerns. The trick for me is now to not harbour bitterness and to allow the person to change. It was important to me for the boss to not let the receptionist know I'd talked to her, as I know she would start a drama war with me. I've worked in supposed open and honest direct communication co ops and seen the slightest comment backfire into war. The funny thing too, is I think the receptionist could tell she crossed a line and started talking to me about her homelife problems, and it made me feel compassion for her and I almost didn't complain because of that. I could see how she gets away with things by doing tactics like this, if it's subconscious or not. Lazy people work hard to be lazy! Working is less exhausting then this type of manipulation! The receptionist is up for a raise soon so the boss will talk to her in general about how she can improve. It's a four person healthcare work place and I love it so it's important to have it be a caring supportive environment.

It's so hard to keep the personal stuff out of the work place! And you're so right about it being super sticky when it's a small office environment. Glad to see you back on the Tube!

I'm sorry, you're having a tough time at work. Did you go into the meeting with documentation regarding your co-worker? I think it's best to be prepared for such a conversation with good documentation; date, time, what happened specifically and if there have been any other incidents. Without that I find that managers/supervisors (et al) tend to view you as "just complaining." I know it's frustrating but again, being prepared is very important as it will also affect your career with the team and the company you're working for. In addition, be specific how it's causing your work to be disrupted; THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. Hope your situation works out well for all. Thanks for watching!

That's exactly my point in the video. I pointed out how 1. if it's not affecting the work that you do it's just a personal issue or 2. if it is affecting the work that you are producing then I recommend to prepared those points to present to that superior/supervisor/manager, etc. Thanks for watching!

@@RecruitingMaven The video is about dealing with issues with colleagues in a professional environment no? I am talking about going and sniveling to your boss "professionally" because someone is having a hard time and is being negative and bothering you. They would professionally tell you to go fvck yourself and to take it up with them and try to get it resolved. I say you wouldn't make it because maybe one week someone got involved in an officer involved shooting and that same week I rolled up on a car accident where a 16 year old died. All while going through divorces or this that and the other, there is bound to be some disruption. And you are doing god knows what desk job and going behind her back and complaining to your BOSS, its pathetic. You ma'am are like a robot, you give me the heebie jeebies. Abuse is one thing but someone having a hard time is another, when one of us has a hard time we rally around each other. Your divorce story gives me the creeps

Yes, certain industries are more challenging than others. You may want to consider a change (don’t quit!) start retraining your self online or go to a night school. Here’s a link to one of my other videos that will provide to you budget friendly (very low cost) education. kzread.info/dash/bejne/iXeolsFwcpado5c.html. Without having any details surrounding your situation I find it difficult for me to respond appropriately to you. There are too many variables such as; do you live in the US, what company do you work for, company culture et al. I'm sorry, I am unable to comment at this point in time. With that said, I've used the methods I discussed in my video and they've worked well in the past, of course things and people change over time and so do HR regulations depending on where you live. I do wish you much continued success!
