The thyroid gland is an endocrine gland that produces hormones called thyroxine, which are stimulated by the brain. When the thyroid gland's hormone secretion is not optimal, the brain increases TSH levels, leading to hypothyroidism.
Thyroid tablets should be taken on an empty stomach and one must not eat anything for at least 30 minutes to an hour of having the tablet.
Other tablets, such as iron or calcium, should be taken after 2 to 3 hours of taking the thyroid tablet.
Store the tablets in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
