That method of math notes is exactly what I’ve been doing since middle school! People are always so surprised when they find out I don’t study much for math exams but it’s because I solidify the concepts immediately after learning them-through the word explanations and example questions

I’m using this method because I’m not paying attention most of the time in my math classes especially when we start a new topic:/ so I have to teach it myself and because ik that I would forget about the concept because I don’t pay attention like I said I have to write it down. It’s soo important to pay attention in class so I do not recommend not paying attention! I’m just very lucky that I can understand maths most of the time very fast, even just by looking at the solution (in higher grades it’s kinda hard to find out the concept by yourself) and get good grades because of that lol

Summary notes for note taking chemistry: 1. Read through content and highlight text that are important (that your teacher emphasize, main ideas to capture the rough concept). Forces brain to comprehend. Ideally, read through course content before the lecture to reinforce what you already know. 2. Write and solve problems, check your work afterwards. This is my interpretation of your other video on how to do well in chemistry class. I think you had a lot of good information in that video on note taking. “Pre-read - previewing the text, making presumptions of the text for connections to previous knowledge so that you can build off it during the actual reading so that it’s easier to understand. Annotate/make lots of notes in a way that makes most sense to you, in your own words during your lecture and after. Summarize information into tables he says, yet I find splitting information into section summaries more convenient. However, I can understand the thought process since it further forces you to further condense important information into easily accessible pieces, which is a form of independent problem solving from my perspective as you build efficiency in summarizing important information through repetition. Group similar mechanisms together so that you can easily refer back to them later, and I said something along those lines already under “Pre-read”. Write down every single thing the professor wrote down whether in slides or information professors emphasize during lecture.”

@@alexchen9489 first you have to have the "learning is fun" mindset, i believe learning should not be just for young people but people of all ages. and if you dont want ap classes, you just have to make sure you get an a because regular classes are not weighted and what u get is what u get. If you have ap classes and you do well in them they bring ur gpa up

@@alexchen9489 I would suggest dual enrollment classes rather than AP and those are also more weighted so you can get above 4.0 if you desire. I’m preparing for my college entry exams and I found the Campbell method really good for IN CLASS notes, it allows me to take notes on the margin and write down questions and tips. I’m studying to enter the STEM area and this has helped me a lot, for out of class studying I read the book/slides like this: 1 I just glance the whole chapter, not read, just check it out 2 then I read the subtitles and images/ graphs 3 then I read some of the exercises to get an idea of how should I approach the subject 4 ONLY THEN I start reading + taking notes

I always had a problem with taking notes and paying attention to the teacher at the same time. I can't keep up with their teaching pace (while taking notes) even though it's not that fast. How do you do it?? Do you taking notes and listening to lectures at the same time, or sum up everything at the end??? Andd, if it's the first one, how do you do it? Thanks in advance, love ur video, it's inspiring me a lot:)

I'm considered a slow writer so I take photos of the board/screen on my phone if the teacher is going to fast. However, because a lot of lectures are now being delivered as videos, you can pause and play as necessary. Big help!

If you can see the materials before class that would be great for you. Some of my classes started using this method of reviewing the material before class to get a base understanding and then in class you can focus much more!

I would write down the main concept and keywords you learned and understand from each slide. But also note down anything you don’t understand so you can ask questions later
