I took this stuff for over 20 years. It ruined my digestive system and my bowels. At one point I hardly dared leave the house unless I knew where the next toilet was. My blood sugar is at the same level it was 20 + years ago. After pleading with my doctor I am now on a different medication and am starting to get back to what I remember as normal.

I also take my blood sugar readings often. I have had a lot of practice.....I take glimepiride also. I take a very small amount of glimepiride because it's effect on lowering my blood sugar is much greater that that of meformin. Most of the time I am very close to the blood sugar reading I wanted. I've been on it since May 2021. My A1C dropped from 8.0 to 6. I take two tablets of 500 MG each, twice a day after eating yogurt or after my evening meal. No side effects whatsoever. I also take Berberine and CuraLin supplements, and with 2x daily glucose checks, my blood sugar varies from about 160 to as low as 90. Every person is different in terms of medication tolerances, so you must actively engage your primary physician to help you get on a regimen that works for you. There are other medications which would work much better, depending on your situations.

I have been on Metformin and Glipizide for several years now. But I have been working on getting off of them through diet. Diabetes is a dietary decease cause by a diet overloaded with carbohydrates for years. Currently Medicine treats the symptoms of diabetes (high blood sugar) and not the cause (too many carbs being eaten). I try to keep to no more than 30 carbs per day or less. And am also going to be doing fasting as a way to rid my body of the access sugars. In this way diabetes can be reversed. This does not mean after you reverse it you go back to eating the way that got you into being a diabetic. But that your blood sugars will return to normal without the use of medications.

I was looking for this comment because I just got diagnosed and took my very first tablet yesterday but I'm worried because I want to stick to omad seriously this time around which will mean taking the first tablet on an empty stomach....is that something I can do? I really want to lose weight and hopefully reverse this thing, the Idea of being on medication for life doesn't sit well with me even though this was a chance diagnosis as I was frustrated with being omad and not losing weight and jokingly said to my doctor why can't you just put me on the gastric bypass list...I guess he took me seriously and arranged for my blood work which is how I found out. I'm also anemic( just found out) so it's really not been a great week but I won't wait to see if I get the surgery so I'll try to take fasting seriously in the meantime.... I'm concerned about taking the Metformin on an empty stomach and please forgive my ramblings as I'm still trying to process all this.

No, CoQ10, Thiamine (B1) and Folate (B9) can also drop. Eating foods rich in these as well as avoiding all sugars (including honey), all grains (including pasta, crackers, bread and oats/porridge) and all fruits with the exception of avocado and minimal berries. Best, B1 (Thiamine) = Eggs, Butter, Liver, Cauliflower, Cream Best, B9 (Folate) = Eggs, Liver, Seafood, Butter, Cream, Brussel sprouts, Broccoli, Lettuce Best, B12 (Cobalamin and Methylcobalamin (Natural) = Beef, Liver, Chicken, Eggs, Butter, Seafood, Cream, Chlorella If you have a problen with Dairy, go for ferments like cheese (aged if possible), unsweetened full fat greek yoghurt. Caution: read the label on Greek yoghurt because it might be sweetened with saccharin or some agent which is bad. There are always caveats to consider because food companies add bad stuff to seemingly healthy products. You simply must be ahead of the companies and look things up, im sorry to say. Exanple, fortified Nutritional Yeast, the b12 they use is actually synthetic, its not real b12 its called Cynacobalamin. Yeast isnt a good source of b12 because b12 doesnt occur naturally in it. Chlorella on the other hand has naturally occurring b12, Mylocobalamin. Spirulina has pseudo b12 which will deplete you of b12 which can be harmful to those low in b12. CoQ10 best = Beef heart, chicken liver, avocado, tempeh, Kaneka, peanuts

I stopped taking it 8 months ago and before I did my body was in agony from Muscle Spasms and nasal issues, it went away when I stopped taking it, I'll never go back on it again!!??

Type two is hyper insulimia it is the opposite of type one, your pancreas still works but your cells reject insulin carrying glucose and other nutrients because they are crammed with to much glucose you have to stop carbs like bread pasta sugar rice potatoes oats bananas apples pineapples honey anything high in sugar fructose or high carbs as mentioned above because they spike your insulin to much to get any control it, eat berries far less sugar, veg, meat, fish large salads, cheese, I had type two and followed this diet with intermittent fasting and short intense exercise and reversed my condition.... If your have to have a sweetener use xylitol or any other natural sweetener that are very low in carbs..

Yes, it will help you lose weight. But I don’t think you should be taking this stuff unless you’re diabetic quite honestly. The reason why you lose so much weight is because you’re constantly sitting on the toilet and you’re only gonna lose about 10 pounds as it is.

It depends whether that level is when you're fasting, 2-3 hours after eating, less than 2 hours after eating or at other times of the day. At home, check at these times daily (so four times a day) for a week and also go to have your Hb1Ac checked. This info will answer your question.

Yes it does but there is also apple cider vinegar (ACV) and berberine natural alternatives. ACV usage, take 30 mins before meal. 2 tablespoons to 300 to 400 mls of water. Use a metal straw to sip it as taking it straight may or may not strip teeth enamel. These things, including Metformin are for short term usage. Metformins effectiveness in particular declines after around 6 months when you will be given more or changed to another med. A 30 minute walk after a meal is always effective.

Metformin makes it to where I can't go to the, bathroom, and a few times it was like a jet coming out like water coming out really fast, and I had gas and heartburn, so my doctor said it was all right to stop metformin, but then he took a blood test yesterday, slow release might be the answer with a lower dose, because they had me on a really small dose from the being, but then they start giving me these 1000 mg tablets and that just really brought the side out out, so I'm thinking I need a smaller dose in a slow release does, so now I need to talk to my doctor, but I do have constipation and it is a pain in the neck, and I also know everybody's bodies are different so this information about my usage of metformin may not relate to other people's conditions I'm a diabetes type 2 and I almost died but the people at the emergency Ward brought me back, so now I have a chance to get things right, thanks for the information.
