Hey Kevin. Great theme. As a professional welder, the most important thing about tack welding is that you can get an independent eye to check your work and make sure it is right before full welding. Cutting a few tacks sure beats grinding and cutting out full welds. Also important is to make sure to put your tacks in a place where you can cut them out if you need to. It is amazing how it can be to break tacks that cant be cut.

Yes, you can tack weld with just about any machine. It's all about how you do it. What machine do you have?
@kevincaron i have a lincoln wire feed welder can you tack weld on that ??????
Also, have you ever done a video on how you can use the pull of your tack welds to place things into position for you?

Why does the camera go dark when using the welder? Shouldn't the room get brighter, not darker? 🤔

Putting a dark lens over the camera so you can see the arc. Or at least that is what we are trying to do.

can anyone answer my question ?? Ok i have a welding machine in my garage do u need a certain welding machine to tack weld or what ???

No, you can basically tack with almost anything. If your machine can weld it should tack.

I personally think you should learn PROPER tack welding before you learn how to run a bead. Because a bad tack welder can ruin a good finish welders welds.
