Have you been wondering how to decorate shelves without looking cluttered? This video is perfect for you!
Shelf styling can actually be easy if you know a few starting tricks!
How do you make a bookshelf look nice? One, you are not going to be happy with it until you have two things - 1. It reflects you and 2. It's balanced.
How do you style a built in bookcase? It's important that it blends well with the rest of the built in and decor/furniture in the room.
Why are decorators turning books backwards? If you have some spines of books that aren't as neutral or easy to incorporate into the design, you can easily turn them around to work more harmoniously with the rest of the decor.
Shelf decor can be a mix of books, personal items from travels or photos, plants, candles, canisters, vases/pots, and overall try to repeat elements in a diagonal pattern!

Extremely helpful and well done video. You described very useful information about how to visually link items both horizontally and vertically. I liked the zigzag you started with. Turning the books with the spine facing the back sure removes the visual chaos of print and colors competing for attention. Thank you.

I found it 😊 I have a white bookshelf so I don’t know if it will look as nice on my bookcase as it does yours, but being that my space is black white gray with silver accents I really don’t have many colors to work with but I guess there’s only one way to find out how it’ll look.
