1)I am crazy about this lesson and I find with the speed and all ( I know I can slow it down, but I like the vitesse) I slip into chucking ( hey, this song has helped me, without intending improve my chuck, thanks), but I like this mellower sound. I suppose it depends if I use the index finger or the thumb while strumming . When I use the index, I tend to use the bottom (palm) part of my thumb.

Yes - wherever it feels natural, follow that. Just as long as your technique is LIGHT. That's key. Keep on searching for the effortless, ease of when something is known. Watch the body...feel the dance on the instrument....ENjoy :-)

We recently did this song in concert; it's always fun played jazzy and loose in the syncopation. Some day I'd love to play the picking patterns and flourishes you do here, even half as fluidly as you do it. Right now, Until I get better at it I do a few slides here and there instead.

Another superb video Stu. Thank you. This is a challenge for a beginner like me but I'm sure giving it a go. Can I ask you, when you mute it's difficult for me to stop it becoming a chunk so is that alright?

Yes, absolutely - a silent mute is what I'm recommending, but a chuck is juuuust fine! Do YOUR thing ;-) Thanks Lisa

Ukulele Zen Thanks Stu, I can actually do the mute but can’t get the “swing”. I just sound forced and robotic rather than relaxed and eh swing, bouncy, trampoliney BTW when is your next “how to sing & play for dummies” tutorial 🤔. Greetings from a sunny and more locked down Ireland. Every time we get even a regional lockdown the weather gets better.

great song and lesson but waaaaay to fast for me to play along with you. I could only get one strum per measure, but at least I muted that strum! I will have to slow it down a lot, although then you sound like somebody leaving the dentist with a numbed mouth that won't work and it makes me laugh.
