I started getting into that nonsense a couple years ago listening to idiots talking about perfect form and staying tight. But when I was younger I trained more like the way you do now and got better gains. Glad to hear you say it

I just started working out in earnest 3 months ago, basically for the first time in my life. I started liking some fitness stuff on Insta, and Mike got recommended to me, and I feel like I've been given this gift, to have just dived deep, deep down, through all the bullshit & misinformation that is the world of fitness social media, straight to this amazing source of truth and knowledge. I'm of course no authority on weightlifting whasoever, but I do know that when I do Mike's movements, it feels so organic, and intuitive, and they've all felt like my best workouts so far (and I've been going down on a lot of my weights to do them right! Lol)

@@MikeVanWyck I mean you can't blame them. You have Ronnie Coleman himself, Arash Rabar, Matt Kroc(his old articles are still the holy grail for some bodybuilders, the late Phil Hernon, Brian Dobson who was Ronnie Coleman's trainer, every natural bodybuilding guru or coach, and practically the most jacked person on every message board with pics who all say squeezing and feeling muscles overcomplicates things and is not for those who haven't mastered control with heavy weights. I do think you're right but to advise people who have been hit with their words and videos and possibly the same thing in real life to actually go against what they've been bombarded with.....is a pretty damn tall order bro lol. How do I know? Because I used to be one of those guys lol. Til I realized execution is king before load is. That moving weight even with proper form like Phil Heath or Dorian teaches may not be enough.

@@MikeVanWyck I definitely liked the lean for extensions. Quads were fired up after that. My favorite for hamstrings is stiff leg deadlift with the ball of my feet on a 1/2" inch piece of wood or 5lb plate to engage the stretch earlier. 3-4 second negatives with a squeeze at the top just before standing as not to joint stack. Any tips on stiff leg deadlift would be great! I haven't searched your video library for deadlifts.
