I’m (was) in the 400+ bench club. Clean, raw, no PEDs, etc at 45yrs old in 2000s. Took 5yrs to go from 6 to 8 plates. 415 bench X3, POP! Just impingement, but DONE! How? Barley. For me, the best pointer Big Mike has is that you should feel yourself “falling into” the bench on the eccentric portion. “Elasticity” Once I feel that stretch “into” the bench, I know I’m ready to initiate the concentric portion. Finally feeling my chest. 33 years old. Lifting since I was a young kid. Thanks, Mike. Ogre Mike. Big Mike. STFU

Around 14:00, that exercise machine whatever the fuck its called; I never felt my back when I held it super wide, I never understood why. It felt like shit to me, I didn't feel back AT ALL. Now I know why haha. Thanks for the free info.

I had the same problem to be honest…… I was focusing on weight especially on chest and continued it because it was a force of habit and ego…… flat chest and underdeveloped….listening to Mike….. lowering the weight with control and engaging the actual muscle….. I’ve seen a major difference…… people know what they have to do but they don’t because people are ego lifting
