Lol yes ...well guess what I was storing flour and didn't think about it either two years ago. My mother in law came and stayed with us for two weeks ..I leave the kitchen to her because she loves to take over in that area and I willing let her lol..she does all the cooking and making biscuits and such. Well all the flour I had stored, even what was on my counter had bugs in it..very small you really had to see it .I was so embarrassed!! She thought nothing of it and she showed me..she actually was gonna use it and I threw it all out even more stored and went and bought fresh and started to do research! That's how when I learned alot.. I will say this back in the ole days the older didn't think of that..they ate it and whatever was in it and if it ever came down to it in a hungry sense, crisis sense, I would too lol. @@Raffields777 I know as some wheat flour is graham instead of actually wheat. I gathered basic recipes that use flour, salt, oil and water to make grain products. Because of the few ingredients, I wanted to add some nutritional value so I decided on making blends. After I finish my blend packets, I am going to process the leftover unbleached white flour for long term food storage. I plan on being able to make grain products with the basics recipes quickly. If I could afford them I would have went with buying a grinder and buying bulk quantities of wheat berries. Since I am a poor woman I have to do the best that I can. As it gets warmer, I am going to work on sour dough starter. But for now it is going to be simple dough recipes with no leavening.
