My doxie is the sweetest little chap ever, but he's super reactive of other dogs and he pulls the leash with a strength that doesn't match his little body, like that boy is STRONG as hell.

Great pointers! Every Dachsie I’ve ever had has pulled from the gate! The 2 I have now could complete the Ididerod without any other dogs--well, maybe the depth of the snow could slow them down! But these techniques are excellent, and even more, they work!

I have a spayed 6 yr old rescue. My biggest problem is when you get ready to walk she will if she wants to. She pulls backward with a collar or harness. Her nose rules the world.

Is this for fully grown dacshunds or could I try a slip lead on my 10 month old? He pulls and pulls every time we walk and always has to lead which makes him very reactive and anxious.

I've bought 14 months old daxi. He pulls. And is allover the place on walks. He has never been trained. Is it a good idea to use a prong collar on him? Thank you

Thanks for watching! Prong collars aren't always needed, we have a number of different videos for training tips and we have a training course that might be helpful on our website called Boot Camp that might help. More details can be found on our website: fenrircanineleaders.com. We do have a video looking at how to get your dog to walk to heel, here's our latest upload on the topic: kzread.info/dash/bejne/e22BspWiqcqaopM.html&pbjreload=101

I have a 7lb dachshund she’s deaf (she can hear very loud noises) she pulls so much on the leash that she hurts her pads…it’s terrible I don’t even walk her anymore I need help so bad. She’s 1 1/2yrs old I use a harness ….she’s all over the place and after watching you here I’m not a good leader 😢 I over compensated for her being deaf so we never leave her alone she comes everywhere with us and now I created a dog who is too stressed to be left alone EVER

Could try some little boots to protect her pads 🥾 might be a little annoying but in my neighbourhood there tends to be alot of glass and rubbish and I see heaps of dog owners with their dog booted up about especially some of the older ones to protect there feet from all the glass debris.. could even hand sew some up yourself with some little cuts of leather to make some light ones and cut out little pads from an old soul of a like one shoe and make mini souls for the boots..
