This is typically what Gen Z, especially young men, do when they are offered job opportunities: they decline the offer, expecting to get a better one, while young women take the job offers no matter how small the salary is. They strive to improve their lives and those of their family members. I have observed that many men, particularly those from the middle class, are egotistical. They quit their 100-150k jobs to start businesses that they don't know how to manage, simply because their former classmate, who didn't go to university, is driving a big car and earning significantly more money than them. As Benjamin says, men often focus too much on big goals and forget about the small goals, and that's where women outperform men. For example, the power of table banking allows women to buy household items with their small salaries.

Thanks Benjamin. I some how differ with you in that women who go quiet and don't question their husbands do so because they were shut down severally by their arrogant husband. Same men don't want their wives to grow. You try new things to upgrade yourself but he shuts you. Very unfortunate that you only realize after living together for some time and even had children
