Hi lovelies, do you sometimes feel like life is always set on hard mode? In this video I dive into an idea that has stuck with me for the past few days, using Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs of map out the stress levels in life from more severe to less severe. A little bit unusual but I do hope you find this helpful.

Poverty trauma is real. It rarely is just poverty, abuse and other things are frequently associated. Some people who have only known survival mode and have been hammered by life have a tendency to either be really hard or really soft emotionally. Thank you for the reminder that we need to heal.

Literally what I tell people. Living in poverty and around violence effects your nervous system so much. After years of illnesses I’m just now discovering it all stemmed my nervous system being overactive, and now I’ve been healing so much. Also healing my root and sacral chakras

I think it’s so important to get your body moving. I know they always say go for a walk and go outside if you have depression, but guess what? It works. And I’m finally figuring that out because I’m working out again and my body and mind feels so much better. There are literally sometimes that my body is so sore and exhausted. My brain can’t do it to usual BS it does. The mind and body are interconnected what you do to the body will affect the mind and the mind will affect the body. Be very aware of this.

nothing pulls me out of a funk more than yoga or a nice little walk. My car recently broke down and I can’t afford to fix it yet so I got a used bike to ride to work and the grocery store and it’s been such a blessing in disguise as well :)

Glad I saw this video before I went to bed. Especially since the last 3 days for me has been really rough. Been dealing with a health issue the last few months (eye floater), and it's led to some pretty bad anxiety, and it just spiraled out of control recently which even brought about some dark thoughts. Made some life changes like exercising every day, eating better, meditation, seeing a therapist, but it's been a struggle to not fall into a pit of mental anguish leading to feelings of despair, and hopelessness. Then the structure I've tried to build for myself takes a it. I'll try to keep your words in mind, because you made some good points. Cheers, and much love.

@@cookieLaLa94 Yeah I heard about that. Might give it a go in the future. For now I've turned to hypnotherapy, nutrition, and consistent exercise just to try to bring the anxiety down. Also found staying busy with a few goals helps me break even mentally. Having a quality support system of friends, and family has really assisted me too more than I thought it would. Anyway thanks for the comment. Hopefully I ultimately figure this out :)

This is something that I know logically but having it spoken to me is waking me up to it. I’m moving from my in laws who are selling the house in an area far from my college and the school I want my child in. I am moving in with a good family friend I’ve been with before and going back to a safe neighborhood. The only time I’ve done well in life was living in that city with her. When I live in a safe place, my life does splendid, when a setback brings me back into poverty it’s years of fighting to just get back. I’ve had to move every six months to a year for a very long time and it feels like I’m always trying to learn my new schedule, the new shops and prices, the routes, if I can get new furniture, if I’ll be able to keep it. I sometimes compare myself to others I went to school with and have to remember they lived in one place for twenty years with two parents.

This is simply not true. The psychologist mentioned the different kinds of needs but he never ranked them. Instead it was motivational coaches who did the ranking. And of course, your bandwidth is smaller if you have issues in your life, but your needs are not limited to the basic needs just because the basics are lacking. A person who is self-fulfilled but struggles on the daily to pay the rent is still happier than a person who has neither.
