As someone who grew up in to '70s, we didn't write on the walls cos they had really loud patterned wallpaper all over them, but the parents of today give their kids a nice blank, light-coloured canvas to draw on.

@@goob3rvr he used black chalkboard paint to make an area on the wall where his kids could draw. I don't consider that ruining the wall at all. You can make the argument that he screwed up the texturing, but he needed a flat surface. I think instead of being stupid and using a screwdriver wrapped up in duct tape to hold his sandpaper... He should have just wrapped the sandpaper around a block of wood like the rest of us do.

As a landlord I have found that applying chalk paint to kitchen cabinet doors and the backs of bedroom doors and closet doors where children will be helps from having to charge the tenant a repainting and cleanup fee if they move. They love the idea and I have not had to try and clean off any artwork off of any surfaces. It's a win-win in my books.

I was merely trying to post a *positive* remark-without going into the 'technicalities of chalkboard spray paint'.... or, that when my son was a preschooler, I "chalked" one wall in his bedroom-and successfully painted over it, 6 years later, before selling the house. I moved a lady one time that had really nice Ethan Allen furniture, It was in great condition. well until you flipped it over. Marker and crayon scribbling all over the underside. Asked her what was up and she said it was to prevent them from drawing on the walls and on the top. Pretty clever .

As someone who grew up in to '70s, we didn't write on the walls cos they had really loud patterned wallpaper all over them, but the parents of today give their kids a nice blank, light-coloured canvas to draw on.

@@goob3rvr he used black chalkboard paint to make an area on the wall where his kids could draw. I don't consider that ruining the wall at all. You can make the argument that he screwed up the texturing, but he needed a flat surface. I think instead of being stupid and using a screwdriver wrapped up in duct tape to hold his sandpaper... He should have just wrapped the sandpaper around a block of wood like the rest of us do.
Rite on top of the receptacle. Perfect learning opportunity there.
This is far better content than the so-called pranks that even the victims were in on.

As a landlord I have found that applying chalk paint to kitchen cabinet doors and the backs of bedroom doors and closet doors where children will be helps from having to charge the tenant a repainting and cleanup fee if they move. They love the idea and I have not had to try and clean off any artwork off of any surfaces. It's a win-win in my books.

Nothing like adding a little temptation for the kids to stick something into the hole in the wall in the middle of their painting. This is the smartest thing I’ve ever seen done.

the whole room is going to be repainted by the times the kids are teens. who cares about overspray when you are literally creating a chalkboard for kids to draw on.
That was the cutest thing ever and no he didn't ruin his walls by doing that at all and in fact he absolutely kept the kids only being what they would call destructive but only with chalk on chalk board painted walls that was super awesome

@@Matt100space it has an outlet cover in the beginning of the video. but if you mean not covered with painters tape you shouldn’t really need to tape off an outlet unless you’re like this guy and just paint right over the outlet

I was merely trying to post a *positive* remark-without going into the 'technicalities of chalkboard spray paint'.... or, that when my son was a preschooler, I "chalked" one wall in his bedroom-and successfully painted over it, 6 years later, before selling the house. Sorry-I chose simplicity over detailed full disclosure.

I moved a lady one time that had really nice Ethan Allen furniture, It was in great condition. well until you flipped it over. Marker and crayon scribbling all over the underside. Asked her what was up and she said it was to prevent them from drawing on the walls and on the top. Pretty clever .
Maybe If daddy wasn't painting on the wall, the kids wouldn't either
