Regards to the apprentice. That's a tough call. Granted it's their first day, but it's not a good sign when she didn't understand the context of the cabletie instruction when the example of what to do was right in front of them on the existing cables. I had an endless parade of apprentices under me. It was staggering how little they understood the most basic concept of simple mechanical world they live and now choose to work in. About 60-70% were never going to make it. About 8% of remainder would turn out as a good Journeyman. The rest turned out mediocre.

Copying however is, so you can reverse engineer to your heart's content as long as you don't try to steal their patented technology. My entire channel is built around tearing electronics down to repair them and I've never had an issue

I remember years ago when I was younger, more flexible, and thinner (that's important). I started originally repairing computer-controlled turret punch presses and there were some repairs requiring crawling in some tight areas. Moved on to maintain computer-controlled printed circuit board drilling machines. Way less dirt, but high-speed drill sounds and not the thump of those presses. The press repairman was somewhat larger, read FAT, and every so often I was called to that area to service something he couldn't reach (get to as the area was too small for him. He finally quit as his replacement was thinner than me, thank those who oversaw technicians.

My questions are: are these chargers tamper proof? There isn't much point in RFID tags if the unit can be physically bypassed. Either through the logic board or tapping into the 3 phase supply directly. Are these chargers on a time clock so they only work in working hours only? I noticed the screws were pozidrive to fix to the wall, would coach bolts be a better choice, so the nuts are on the inside and no head is visible outside. A spot of thread locker will prevent them from being loosened externally, as electricity theft may lead to vandalism and charger theft.
I'd love to know what your apprentice was thinking when she did that, so good. "why's he asked me to put cables ties on this cable......oh well"

Ever tried getting blood out of a stone Cory, that's what it's like having a Metrel unit.. Why did you wire each individual. With the zaptec pro you can wire a good few on the one supply and joint box and 6mm 5 core into the the charger. You can also use power line adapters for the communication. It's all about how it's set up and commissioned.

Curious why you (back whenever it was done) used vertical baskets when there's so much space, instead of the normal "industrial" gutter-trays where you just drop the cables in. Only ever seen that type of baskets used for going vertical or snaking through tight spaces, where a cable ladder won't do the trick.

With Andersen having gone into adminstration recently, their apps are at risk of not working before too long, rendering their chargers "dumb", or worse: "locked". I'm guessing thats the risk with all EV chargers that need an app to program scheduling or any other operation / configuration. With that in mind, do you leave slack in the wiring to accommodate any replacement charger easily? Do you think that app based controls for electrical products will end up getting a bad reputation if more companies go bust?
