You helped me realize that KZread has been the primary driver of my makeup spending for the last few years! I’m going to do a no buy for as long as I can, until I actually need something like mascara. I have all the lipstick, blush, bronzer, highlighter, liners, eyeshadow and concealer that I’ll need for probably years. I can create all the eye and blush looks I could ever need in fact!

Yes I find it easier to impulse purchase at night too.

I am terrible at no buys. I am addicted to sales. I wanted the new Natasha Denona Zendo palette. I was attracted to the one quad for the mint green shade. I just didn’t have that shade in my collection. I still ended up making a purchase, but it was for a single mint green shade. I didn’t buy the whole palette. I also purchased from a local store, which I try to support. That is a success for me. The old me would have purchased the whole palette and called it a day.

congrats! so many new palettes are just nude with one 'fun pop of color' so I usually just buy single shadows from inglot if I want one

I have unsubscribed from all the makeup KZreadrs I was following and the email from Cult Beauty, Look Fantastic etc and deleted the apps. If I am not seeing the makeup as much I will be less tempted. I once watched a video on Hourglass thinking I didn't want anything from the brand. I then bought a luminous skin finish to use as a highlighter and a blusher so it's better not to watch the video in the first place. There are brands I have only become aware of because of KZread. An inventory of what I have might be a good idea. I have decluttered a huge amount of makeup - most of my High Street eyeshadow, a lot of nail varnish, lipstick and eyeliner. I used to have makeup storage in the attic and a lot of it was ruined by the heat up there in the summer. I called it the Girl Cave! The girl cave has been dismantled!

I consider my moisturizer as primer too, and if you are well hydrated, your makeup turns out fresh. Hope that helps?

Unless you're oily, my niacinamide or hyaluronic acid serums have some grip, lots of sunscreens and moisturizers have dimethycone and those are great for priming if you have dryer skin!
