Very interesting to look back to Farouk’s first event. Such a difference from today’s confident Braveheart. The little clip of when you first saw him brought tears to my eyes. He was wild and so frightened. He was so fortunate to have you purchase him, love him and train him. 💕

People are making too much fuss about this. Hes young! Hes like a little boy on his first day at school with all the other kids and nervous Moms ;) He was over the moon happy and excited to get going! He did really well! And you should be so proud of yourself!
Wow Farouk is so gorgeous he brings tears to my eyes there is no beast so noble and magestic as the Arabian horse they truly are what the Arabics say a gift from god .

You need to see an Indian Marwari. Beautiful is not the word.... arabians and Marwaris are y far the most beautiful horses on the planet
Just so exciting for Farouk and he looked magnificent. As Tara wanted to mount, I suspect that young master Farouk didn't want a subtle arrival. Lol, he wanted to sprint around the other horses, kicking up his heels to announce to the other horses, "The Farouk, is in the field". But, kudos, he did settle so very nicely. I think you timed his first outing to a tee.. I can't wait to see how he went. And the comparison at the end, was amazing.

Hello
It's amazing how far Farouk has come along in just a year! You've a solid partnership now, and must be so proud of both him and your training methods. Well done Tara :).
He certainly has come a long way and looks gorgeous under saddle. You have done a wonderful job with him.
Well done for being so patient. He has come so far in a year.
An enormous well done to both of you. It's quite amazing to see how far Farouk has come in the year that you have had him.
He’s a gorgeous boy...you’ve done well by him.
So proud of both of you. He's really turned into a gentleman. Even when he was excited, he maintained composure. Well done to you both! ❤❤❤❤

Yes he did very well it was a big test for him at the start, but he managed to contain himself without lunging him first. I like to give them the opportunity to be self-contained rather than micromanaging them. It builds their confidence and I know for next time I don't need to do anything different.
Hes come on really well..just goes to show how patience and perseverance pays off...good boy Farouk. Well done Tara.
He is beautiful!
A magnificent job Tara! When you were circling him around the event I was thrilled to see your seat stay calm on him and you were relaxed through your hips even though you could feel him tighten his back under you. Was also relieved that your brother went with you! Big sigh of relief there as the video didn't show if any horses passed you on the trail and how he reacted with that. I had a big gulp in my throat for you but was extremely excited for you and could see it in your face that you were having a great time! Happy New Year!

It's been awhile since I've watched one of your video's Tara. You two have come a very long way! That is a LOT of excitement for a hot 🔥 horse. I used to have an Arabian/Throughbred that was my event horse, so I know it takes a bit more patience at times. You have patience and understanding in spades, which makes you perfect for him. That was so impressive the way you handled him in all the excitement during mounting. Just really smart riding and handling of a reactive horse with the circles and directional changes. You ride him so well. I see such a beautiful partnership here with lots of trust. 😊

Nice to see him under saddle and see how he is developing. He may have been on his toes but also in control. Well Done.
So exciting for Farouk and yourself, just a beautiful horse. I was worried he would not settle at first.
I loved the comparison between then and now...he’s come a long way! He certainly is a beauty😃
I Love him!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍 These videos are the best.
Some reason I had missed this first venture of yours with Farouk. Enjoyed your giving him time to settle. When I rode thoroughbreds ‘turning in’ was my trainer’s method of giving horses time to control their own behavior without horse rider responses.
Farouk has such a beautiful Arabian figure, and his coat colour suits him so well. What a handsome chap! I love watching you and your horses throughout your journey! Exciting opportunity’s ahead with you, Apollo and Farouk 🐎
I ADORE being able to see you on Farouk in full video. He is such a character, I just love him to pieces. The flash back video of 2017, he looked so scared. I don't like seeing animals fearful like that. I'm so glad you have Farouk!

Wow farouks first ever event !! 🐎🍎🥕🎀
Farouk has a kind soul. He will quieten down more when he gets older. I have known lots of older Arabs who aren't half as well behaved as your lad. I rode an Arab stallion on holiday in Tunisia. He only had two gaits collected on the spot canter or gallop. Rode him along the beach and he flew. Never once did he lose strength and an unbelievable endurance. Especially as was used to my Friesian.

I don't show but Farouk competed in some top class shows and did very well before I bought him
You’ve obviously done really well with both your horses but you really shouldn’t tie up to the metal rings & should always use a quick release knot. You should really tie some bailing twine to the meta ring so if he spooks it snaps rather than injuring him from the blunt fore of pulling back.

@@Tara101 Arabians are known as a rather high-strung breed, but... I worked as a groom with a Magnum Psyche grandson for a friend for several months. (would have been much longer, but I was still living with my parents then. That's it's own can of worms...) My friend trained him similarly to you, and he was calmer than most of the older QH I've met. I'm pretty sure Farouk will settle down the longer you handle him. :)
Considering it was his first event, in what looked like absolutely typical uncooperative lousy British weather, you managed extremely well with Farouk. All the time and personal attention you invested in Farouk has definitely paid off. I have to wonder what you will be able to achieve as he ages and matures [and calms down], losing the young horse fears and settles in. As for all Farouk's fidgets and nervousness, how did you ever convince him to put up with being transported in tack? Over the years, even normally unflappable Morgans let me know quite unquestionably that they were not happy at the prospect of being in a moving vehicle with a saddle on their backs. As for any of less docile breeds we used for hunt.....

I took him out tacked up in the box a short distance and then just turn around and came home the first time. He did not mind a bit. Then I took him out for real taked up (as seen on the vid with Hubby) again no bother.

@@Tara101 I repeat, you've done wonders with both Farouk and Apollo. And I wish I had known how you convinced Farouk not to make a fuss over the saddle back when I was competing, as it would have been much easier than trying to tack up in the middle of a field or parking lot. Are you sure you don't have a magic wand hidden away? I've figured out by now that you wouldn't threaten or bully a horse into submission. You manage much better than I did.

The place I go hacking with in Windsor trailers their horses out to the park saddled up. They get used to it.
Arriving a bit earlier & hand walking him until he was a bit calmer would have made the mounting a bit more efficient.

Keep centered in saddle and move with your horse.
