captive betta life span depends upon the feed and exercise(active flaring, swimming and hunting). longest recorded betta lifespan is 10 years. there is a rumor about a 15 year old betta. hope in future we can see longest living bettas. mine lived for a 1.5 years in an outdoor planted container.

Sir I have a betta in a pretty good sized planted bowl but their is no heater for the size . How to keep my fish safe during winter? Is adding a good incandescent bulb a good idea?

Is it necessary to put plants in betta fish tank ... i am using other nutritional things and food as you suggested.. but no living plant. And I have 4 female betta in my tank ...

Sir I am facing another issue with my dumbo ear plakat betta fish. I think it's having problem of dropsy. it's the initial stage . I have added Salt and heater in the tank but still I am worried because it is sitting on the bottom of the tank + it's a community tank I have 3 guppies in the tank.
