Cool. I'm working on a brand right now but am still contemplating between whether I should invest in a smaller amount of products in bulk (a collection) to offer faster shipping, or go the drop shipping route. I'm building a niche brand and there's literally hundreds of products I'm trying to sell and customize. So a part of me thinks I should just order multiple samples and do the drop shipping route to scale and grow quicker. When it comes to custom products, I have 3 things I want taken care of and am wondering if you know how to go about this when it comes to written agreements. 1. Full rights to my mold and for them to not compete with me or copy my molds. 2. Not posting my custom products on Alibaba. 3. Not showing my products to 3rd party sellers or big box competitors. Is there a way to do these agreements without a hefty lawyer fee? I really think I want to go the drop shipping route just because of how quick I can grow rather than starting with a few products at a time on Amazon for example.

Wow sounds amazing, if you don't have a massive budget, Dropshipping is the start. I don't have experience with that unfortunately, I'm sure you can come up with some contracts for the supplier to sign but I have never tried it sorry

Go with what skills you have and what you enjoy. If you prefer the marketing side of things, ecommerce is better, if you prefer design then web design. ecommerce has more room to scale but cost slightly more to set up, web design you can basically start for free but takes more time to find clients. Go with what you see yourself working on for a longer period of time

@@garymason2474 depends how complex the site is. A simple website for a blue collar business, say an electrician, I'd say $500 - $800 and can be set up in a few days. A complex ecommerce site with hundreds of products $1500 - $3000 and might take a month to 6 weeks. Work it out based on your time. Don't be nervous, deliver the best site you can and learn as you go

Yes CJ is still viable. Budget really depends, you can use free organic traffic but for certain products you'll need to advertise

so just to confirm, you waited till you had already gotten some orders on the shopify store and then placed the orders with the supplier? and if u did, how many orders did u get before creating that one excel sheet and sending the entire thing to ur supplier? still abit confused on this part since if u waited until a decent amount of orders came in, wouldn't that mean your customers might have to wait for unreasonably long times before their orders even starts getting processed?

No I'm Dropshipping the items 1 by 1 so one order comes in I will order that product once. BUT when you receive a large amount of orders you can process them at the end of that day, so you then send the spreadsheet over for that day to the supplier and they ship the item

How do we make the purchase from alibaba without sending the excel file to alibaba after receiving payment from the customer in shopify? For example, we have 10 orders, will we buy one by one or then send the excel file?
