Lovely video. Thanks for the advice. I’m in Week 2 of my channel after watching booktubers for about a year. Thank you doing this.

I’m named the general reader, because I just don’t focus on any one genre. I also sell books online, Collect special editions, and, enjoy other related tangents

Something I love about your channel is that you show up with such authenticity and candor that the community that has gathered around your channel is so genuinely lovely. It’s a refreshing and happy online space and I think that speaks a lot to who you are as a person and how you show up here. 😊

I’ve thought I’d need a fancy camera but someone said just use your phone, it’s actually really good- and they were right!

Great video! Building community is really the best part of booktube. I’m still just getting started, largely based on your advice. Thank you!

Your videos show a great generosity of spirit and courage. To be so "at home in your own skin" and at the same time encouraging others to do the same . . . simply brilliant. We wish we would have found your channel ages ago. Many thanks and keep up the good work!

Helpful advice here. I saw your earlier video "Why you should start a booktube channel" and I did it! You're an inspiration. So far, I'm enjoying myself a lot (and I tell myself I'm "just "practicing" to get over the nerves.)

Lovely video! You were so concise and gave a lot of great advice. I was terrified when I started my Booktube, but it’s ended up being the best experience. 10/10 would recommend for everyone.

Hello Mark. After much deliberating about it, I started a channel a little over a week ago, due in no small part to your video (Why YOU should start a Booktube Channel) giving me the kick in the pants, as it were, to just do it. As the saying goes, it wasn't so much what you said as how you said it, being very genuine and warm, so, thank you for that! P.s. All the pats for Elvis

Yes, I did it! I started a channel, your videos were the final push I needed to give it a go. Having fun with video editing as I am too camera shy, not sure if being off camera will put people off but I am enjoying myself anyway 😊

So I’ve been watching booktube for years. I’ve always loved reading but was too scared to start a channel. Well a couple days ago, I decided to and I randomly came across one of your “start a booktube” videos last night. I instantly subbed! You have such a wonderful personality and are so enjoyable to watch! And I love that you encourage others ❤️ Keep being you because your videos are so real and inspirational!

Oh and I wanted to add that my house is on the darker side so I bought a ring light. I think it was 30 bucks at Walmart and it’s decent! I sit in my dark room and I’m well lit just from the one so if anyone needs any, they’re cheap at Walmart ❤️

I subscribed because of your authenticity I’m turned off by high production value and “personality”. I don’t friend fake people, so why would I choose to listen to them?

Hello again, Mark. I have just watched this video for the second time and love your relaxed approach. Watching your background as you talk I would never guess that you live somewhere as interesting as Czechia. (I hope that's the correct spelling and name. I'm not sure what the country is called, now it is no longer Czechoslavakia.) Could we have a look in a Czech bookshop one day, please? And since Elvis can read, maybe we could hear him reading a paragraph or two from one of his favourite books? Did you take Elvis with you when you emigrated or is he Czech? And if he is, which language do you talk and read to him in?

Well I don't live near any books shops really but next time I visit one in the city I shall make a video :) Elvis is a Czech border collie born here and I got him coming up to 7 years ago. Crazy how time flies.
