I got 3 seeds to germinate with this method. I had better luck in the spring soaking them and putting them in potting mix in a moist seed tray. About 50% germination. Most grew successfully over the summer/fall in pots. I am overwintering them outside this year and will update in the spring. Hopefully they survive!🌿

I was pleased to find your video, as I am looking to get more info on growing Toona Sinensis from seed. As it is now 5 months since you posted your video, I was wondering how you were getting on ? Although I have not tried growing them yet, I have tasted the leaves from a specimen tree over here in the UK and found them to be delicious - although some folk find them a bit too strong in flavour if eaten raw. Nevertheless there is a lot of evidence that they are a) highly nutritious and b) good for your health in a number of ways - which is why they have been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for centuries. Anyway, good luck with 🌿growing them & ATB from across the pond (🇬🇧)
