    The only time black is a better option than a dark brown is at night, something that is a true shade of black in an area that is otherwise lit, only draws attention.. For camo to work, you need to break up an outline, which can be done with black, but you also need to use muted colors such as khacki, coyote tan, maybe some olive drab and even a small amount of white depending on the environment

    It looks like dark brown, when it dries. Besides, black is a good contrast colour with tan, especially if you mute it with some tan on the last layer. Looks like shadows.

    I've been to Afghanistan twice with the Marine Corps. I play around with the real steel all the time, yet I still play airsoft most weekends. They are two completely different things.

    The mesh sort of looks dope on it, but I think you should of spray painted the helmet fully black and then did the mesh.

    You can find regular mesh at any hardware store. I just took my pool net and cut it out.

    im gonna give you a good advice, don't paint it too close or the shape pattern will be so predictable to human eye, instead take some distance (around 1ft or 30cm) for making the pattern to do some blured shadding, that will really blend with environments

    Heya FoxAirsoft really enjoyed your video, i am attempting soon to do a classic medic white circle with red cross, may i ask what helmet are you painting on, and secondly, could you reccomend a good spray paint for whites and reds :) cheers my friend :)

    You can sand it, which would be better, but you don't have to. This helmet was previously black, I just gave it 3-4 base coats (tan in this case) and it worked. Good luck

    Spray paint pretty much works on everything, so yes. If it's just a flat color, give it 2-3 coats of OD

    Would this work on a fast? Also I don't want a pattern I just want pure OD so would i still use a base coat that is another colour

    I use the Nikon D5000 DSLR. I edit clips in iMovie, but sometimes use Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro for certain things. Thanks

    lol sorry, my question was: wouldnt it work if you made tge base black the. did the snake temolate thing with tan, the. styleyized it like you did? idk might nkt work but if it does it would save paint

    That doesn't look to bad, If i may suggest though try to spray farther back and lighten up on how much Tan you use...don't be afraid to get some more black in there

    that paint "smell" you detect is the paint carrier evaporating. thats why it goes away

    Another good paint is Duracoat, Its made for firearms and of course very durable:)

    Kept one of my helmets from the army. Gonna spay it tan instead of that ugly foliage green (aka grey). Might do that snake skin
