I know im 3yrs late but i keep seeing these videos and I never see anyone pop the lenses out... i might be wrong but i have 2 real pairs of rayban justins and 1 fake pair of justins and a fake pair of costa del mar rinconcito... and the lenses on both of the fakes are fffaaarrrr thinner then the lenses on the real glasses... is that not a tell tail sign?

Your comparison is by no means objective. The "originals" are the matte version. Of course they feel different. Had both and mattes feel smoother. Also the crystals are not comparable either one being polarized and the other one not. Not saying the "fakes"are actually fake, but some aspects cannot be compared because they were never intended to be the same

Yes eBay has many scammers. A haven for fake merchandise though there are some few legit sellers. But nice comparison review, it helps the consumer on how to spot the fake.

Honest question though, would anyone notice these tiny differences normally? I don't own any Wayfarers but when you're having to use a macro lens to see the differences it does make me wonder why the original product costs so much???

I love mine . I also have the clubmasters . I got both at the Sunglass Hut . I do take cheap sunglasses when I go away on holiday. I lose things having to good of a time . 😂

Great info, but unfortunately in reality it's impossible spot a fake unless you have an original Ray-Ban to compare it with, and also it would be so hard to prove it to the seller that it's a fake ! since you don't have an original to compare it with. The difference is just to small to spot 😔

For more information, the sunglasses box has no barcode, and the logo didn't come with P, only ray ban. But it does have RB initial on the right side.

I bought a pair of the ray ban aviators from eBay that were clearly fake. The frames were cheap and there was actually corrosion on the stems. I'm not a fan of the ray bans anyway with the obnoxious logo on the lens. I mostly wear shwoods and randolphs, as I feel their lenses are superior

Great video. I just bought a pair of Ray Ban Mega Wayfarers and was wondering if you could advise on one aspect of their authenticity. I am convinced they are real, I bought them for EZcontacts, but I’ve noticed that they have a very thin seam on the temples and frame. I have researched and it is said that a seam in the plastic could mean they are fake since apparently Ray Ban only makes the frames from one block of acetate, but I noticed that your authentic new wayfarers also have a very light seam at the top of the frame.

I bought a Ray Ban new wayfarer 58mm tortoise frame and i identified a number 2 in the left side of the frame next to the hinge is this normal?

At the end of the day i would recommend if you dont have enough money save for a real pair cause your vision could get affected by wearing sunglasses that look cool but dont have any technology behind it.

The hinge screw in the fakes also wasn't countersunk.

I bought a pair from a major major retailer and the box code sticker is more similar to your fake . No way would they sell fakes and the glasses are perfect. Don't always take as a given the box sticker is the same as what your saying.

How do you know what your saying is definitve as with regard to sticker. Surely different jurisdictions throughout the World have different criteria ,codes of practise for labelling etc. All I'm saying is the box doesn't have the red border . They were actually ordered as prescription set of glasses with different non branded lenses, subsequently I have put original , lenses purchased elsewhere in and they fit perfectly.

@@ShadeReview I love your reviews, but I think you might be wrong on the sticker part. The authentic sticker you're talking about might be specific to SunglassHut. I bought two pairs of Ray Bans from ezcontacts which is an authorized Ray Ban reseller, and they both had a white sticker with an actual picture of the sunglasses on them. Everything else in your video checks out, including the texture on the box, etc.

I’m about to pull the trigger on some RayBans from eBay 😂. The seller had like 14,000 positive feedback at 100%. He’s selling some Polarized New Wayfarers for $115. Have you bought from EBay like this & still got fakes?

E C there are many that got positive feedback because many do not know how to identify fakes. Fakes have been hard to spot. I purchased one on eBay that is polarized but things like the bridge gaps etc points to a fake. The lens was a very good fake and you cannot tell without removing. The box and leaflet is a good indicator whether it is fake. The fake ones have poorer print quality.

As someone who has a couple of pairs of Ray-Bans that are over a decade old, neither pair came packed like that.

Matte frames weigh less than acetate

They're only sunglasses and if I can pay $30 for a fake it's worth it to me after all, They're only sunglasses.

Hay un gran error en este video que no se tomo en cuenta. El error radica en que el Ray ban P tiene diferente numeracion he información en las varilas ya que es 3 P polarizado. En comparacion con los ray ban 3 N. Normal. En si cambia mucho la información por que son dos tipos diferentes de proteccion solar. Por lo que este video esta mal. Y no se puede tomar como informacion que ayude a identificar uno original de uno fake.

I cannot spot fake ray bans when they are that good cause I thought they were pretty good lol. But I don't buy them. I'd rather spend under 10 dollars if I'm gonna buy fakes. In fact I wouldn't spend over that! I'm one that will either spend the 150 or more or spend under 10. I can't imagine spending 59 for fakes. I have no problem with buying 10 dollar sunglasses but I do not understand spending more than that for cheap sunglasses. But at the moment I have 7 pairs of ray bans which is overkill so hopefully if I never buy a pair again..I still have sunglasses ..hopefully they will last my life...or at least one pair will.
